Circa £180 for the licence this year, so an expensive medical and ecg if it adds up to £1K. I now use a private Norwich practice that specialises in Pilot, HGV, PSV and race medicals. They have an arrangement with hospital for stress ecgs. Nowhere near that expensive, and can usually stretch an extra year out of ecg and medical with careful timing! (Medical every 2nd, ecg every 3rd)

ECG's in London are about £500 (admittedly that was a few years ago but I cannot belive there is deflation in pricing) against £80 for a normal medical. Licence is about £100 more? In the full scheme of racing I agree its not a deal changer but pretty annoying to have to pay for effectively one race!
So if GTSCC share with Snet 3 Hour (a great idea IMHO) you will have the strange situation presumably where those with HSCC can do it on a Nat A and the others on Int C!
Does that mean all sportsracers will be hived off? I cant see the GTSCC crowd wanting to be run off the road by B8's

Simon, my understanding is that if GTSCC have only one race outside UK next year then FIA International status and licences not reqd. So would be Nat A. Carol Spagg and Peter Auto will both require Int C or Histo. Think Masters are working on a two tier scheme where drivers with Nat A can still do one event outside UK.

As for 3hr, have no idea how it would work and if sports racers would still be included. Will all come out in the wash....

Cheap day return from Liverpool St to Norwich and you could save yourself a bundle on medical fees.....

More news from our friends in France. Through one of our fuel suppliers.
Dear customer,
Yesterday, the French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault announced the suspension of the Ecotax while specifying that it was not cancelled all together.
The duration of the adjournment has not been specified, however we inform you that it is essential to continue to provide the files for registration.
The teams remain entirely at your disposal to support you in all your administrative processing and for any questions on the subject.
Regards

Looking on the bright side Mike, frustrating as it may be with these clashes at least it forces you to choose events and limits the potential costs. If they were all on separate weekends you might be tempted to do all of them.

Still, that would make the race licence good value I suppose ...

The GTSCC is due to be part of 3 hour weekend at Snet. Not involved with actual 3 hr race.Ideal fit for both operations.

shame they dont merge for the race as it will fill the grid with GT's. However it will mean a lot of racing over the weekend for GT's and if it clashes with pre 63 will make a trip to Europe hard to justify..

A potential clash with Monaco on May 10/11th would make swapping Pau modern and historique around logical. Then a week apart- is that enough for highly strung single seaters?

I would love to be at any of the three meetings on 17/18th, and if they didn't clash would consider them all- funds and suitable mounts depending!

This has been put on Facebook_

The HSCC has released its 2014 Calendar;
The provisional HSCC calendar is:
Sun 6 April Donington Park (Season Opener)
Sat/Sun 19/20 April Thruxton (Easter Revival)
Sat/Sun 17/18 May Silverstone GP (International Trophy)
Sat/Sun 7/8 June Snetterton (Autosport 3-Hours)
Sat/Sun 21/22 June Cadwell Park (Wolds Trophy)
Sat/Sun 12/13 July Brands Hatch GP (Historic Super Prix)
Sat/Sun 2/3 August Croft (Nostalgia Weekend)
Sun/Mon 24/25 August Oulton Park (Gold Cup)
Sat/Sun 27/28 September Brands Hatch Indy (Anglo-French Weekend)
Sat 18 October Silverstone National (Finals Day

Nothing unexpected
apart from: no frosty Meeting in March at Donny, early April instead
works for me

It looks great, as usual! I've given up wondering why one never hears of the HSCC's calendar from the HSCC itself.

Except that Cadwell Park is now late June rather than the late April date of recent years. Presumably with Easter being late next year the Thruxton F2 extravaganza snaffled that date forcing Cadwell to later in the year.

How come JR knew the Snetterton date and the inclusion of GTSCC before the HSCC regulars?

Because I'm a nosey bugger!

Also for some reason get asked by people"what do you think of this idea"

Sure I am one of many as I would be surprised if M B didn't know but obviously most don't join in our merry jottings on this superb literary diatribe.

That's as many long words as I can do but the great thing about the news as that the two best organisations for organising races are joining forces and it can only help bring the Autosort weekend back to the levels of four/five years ago.

Could also be that we spend lots of dosh with a few organisations and turn up with a few cars.

I'm glad you explained that because I thought you were ill!

I'll start on next year's forum calendar in December so keep reminding me. Not that anyone actually reads it!

Ive left out those 3 syllable words John, Not easy to digest at breakfast!

That's the way it works. Be nosey. Ask. Search www. Share table with organisers while at meetings....

2014 year planner has been on the wall for over a week- many dates in place. Hopefully by end of month the season will be taking shape... Only thing that keeps me going through November!

Yep me too well done Pete . We need all the dates up so we can look for a suitable slot for stoke row motor sport day. When historic Monaco started we would all travel from there to go to pau the following weekend would have a couple of days on the beech along the way

Peter, the calendar is brilliant idea and certainly helps me as all the other clubs who's dates I haven't got on wall chart are there! Please keep it going- all we need is some posters to realise that they don't need to start a separate thread if event is on calendar......

Pau Historique is week after Monaco Historic GP in 2014, (May 9-11th Monaco, 17-18th Pau) so the beach thing can happen again! Only problem is that latter clashes with HSCC & GTSCC at Silverstone and / or Peter Auto Spa Classic....... Has to be worst clash of the season SO FAR!

Oh well that worked then. What other fishing can I do to gain a few more compliments?

Actually it helps me too although this year I've been nowhere. And it isn't difficult just takes a bit of time. You guys tell me the dates and I'll plug em in.

An interesting line from the email announcing the HSCC 2014 Calendar.
The Autosport Three-Hour meeting at Snetterton will have a fresh look as the main race is likely to focus on GT cars from the Guards Trophy while the sports-racing cars have a separate race over an extended duration.

Well, the HSCC Calendar is now official and as already posted. Doesn't appear on the site yet but received by email.

Good news is that the Autosport 3hrs will be for GT CARS ONLY, sports racers having by their own bash. No pun intended.....

So perhaps the GTSCC entry will be included in the main event after all? (That is what was suggested to me back in August. )

Whoops, Robert. Just beaten to the line..... Wonder how long the 'extended duration' will be?

Whatever, hope can be there!

weeeeelll
I also wonder what exactly "extended duration" will turn out to be.
Bearing in mind that some sports racing engines are lifed at about 6-7 hours of use, the 3 hours potentially used up 50 % of this.
Too much for me.
Buuut: a 90 min race with driver change(s) would a great idea.
