Hint, Ingram finished ahead of Turkington, so remove the double points would benefit Turkington. |

Brett Smith on pole!
Very pleased for him, he's been so quick on every Saturday this season but never quite seems to have the race pace (opposite of Collard!) Seems Eurotech are the king of Brands Hatch pole positions..! Ingram down in 17th... Last edited by Evantra; 29 Sep 2018 at 15:04. |

Brett Smith, gets his first pole at the same venue his father got his one and only pole last season. Good luck to him tomorrow, he really did well there.
Turkington only just ahead of Tingram, so job done there |

Huge crash in Clios... Nick Reeve got turned into the barrier on the GP loop and went flying... thankfully all drivers OK.
Looks like there'll be a long delay |

Quick calculation of who needs to finish where. There is a maximum score of 22 points per race (20 for the win, plus 1 for leading a lap, plus 1 for fastest lap). If Ingram scores maximum points in the last two races and Turkington then the scores will be 310 vs 300 in Ingram's favour, plus whatever they score from race 1. That means Turkington needs to outscore Ingram by at least 11 points in race one to be guaranteed of the title.
This table shows where Ingram needs to finish race 1 to keep his title hopes alive. Eg if Turkington finishes 5th or 6th with fastest lap then Ingram needs to be 15th or better.
This doesn't include the point for leading a lap as it seems unlikely either would get to the field only to drop back down again. It is included where winning the race as that extra point is guaranteed. |

I dont think there is any danger of Turks finishing in the top 6 in race 1, I think it would require some freak incidents for that to occur. One thing to watch out for tomorrow is overly aggressive defending from Ingram. Ive spotted it on a couple of occasions now and I think if he isn't careful it will bite him. However his car has been a rocket for most of the year, so its pretty rare that cars are actually attempting to pass him.

Yes, I think CT and Tingram need to not defend too much as the risk of a last day at school kick up the backside could end their championship hopes on the spot... whoever wins I just hope it's done cleanly and not the result of shenanigans.

incredible that the top 24 cars are covered by less than a second, on the GP circuit.

Well another great day at Brands, a few incidents but great weather and looks good for tomorrow, managed to spill my coffee down the front of me so went looking for a shirt, large amounts of stuff on sale at almost all the outlets so treated myself to an MG shirt. Will be at druids soon after 7.30 tomorrow.

Anyone know when the rescheduled Junior race is? Does it affect the Sunday start time?

Turk on the option tyre in race 1, Ingram in race 3. Which is expected to be the faster tyre?

3.5.1.f. Excessive weaving to warm-up tyres using more than 50% of the track width and falling back or
stopping in order to accelerate and practice starts, is prohibited. Not bothering to enforce the first part of this anymore then? |

Bit of a non-event that one. Cammish takes his first win which is nice. Ingram was no where. Turks taking a lot of risks he doesn't need to take. Team HARD fail HARD.

Definitely looked like Cammish jumped the start...
It's over for Ingram now. 18 points per race is too big a gap. |

Ingram needs..
1st and 3rd 1st and 4th plus both fastest laps 2nd and 2nd plus both fastest laps That's assuming Turkington fails to score a single point for the rest of the weekend |

Good for Cammish, I knew he's going to make it eventually.
It's over for Tingram I think. |

Definitely a jump start, he was out of his box before the jump as well. No doubt Honda will get away with it though...
