I'm heading up for the Friday now so I'll keep an eye out for familiar faces. Trouble is I don't recognise you guys without you being dressed in orange so if you could all tie something orange to you that would be useful...

See you up there!

And Stephen, you owe me some Jely Babies I reckon...

I may be getting a Media Pass for the Sunday and if so, will bring my little lad along as well.

Mark,

Have you sorted out your media pass already as there was talk last year of not doing on the day accreditation this year, it is to stop the chancers who turn up with suspect stories and bogus media accreditation.

I don't know if this plan is going ahead, will find out on Thursday I guess.

There is on the day accreditation but I've been turned down "for not fulfilling the criteria" even though am due to be working there for three / four days so not sure if I will bother going now - not going and paying in order to be able to do a job. Going to give them a call and find out why as have work to do!

[edit] not sure what their criteria was as was turned down in a group email along with someone who writes for the Times / Telegraph, a couple of photographers and some other writers - there was a couple of others there too I was surprised were turned down.

Seems to be a lottery!
My email from the Media Director says that my request for accreditation has been accepted and to simply bring a copy of the email plus ID.

Although I am no longer officially employed by the company I am to represent, I have offered to submit an overview of the event, and they have agreed and helped with my accreditation.

I was supposed to be on a stand for two days (didn't provide enough exhibitors passes either...) as well as writing an article for one mag and research for an article based on the show for another....little bit frustrating to be honest!

I think each stand gets a set amount of Staff Tickets.

Each Stand is allocated 10 staff passes, but these can be re-cycled. Passes can be returned to the Pass-office in exchange for new ones.

Or become a BRSCC member.

P.S. This isn't meant to spark the usual debate...

I'm on the stand along with Chris Hobson, Eric Ridler, Nadine and Ian Lewis and several others. It's right behind the BRSCC stand so you won't miss it.

I've just got my membership card. But do I need any other pass to get in for free?

Yes, you will need an trade pass. In previous years there was a stand just outside the main hall where you could get a trade pass, but not sure if it is there this year.

I went today, it was a let down again! Its becoming more of a boy racers paradise, with big exhausts and scantily clad women rather than full of racing cars as it should be!

Nice to see the XJR9 and the rest of the Le Mans exhibition though!

No, coz they are not pretty (I am not a fan of women who have jobs because of their bodies, get a proper job, for god's sake!) I would personally love a new body, it would let me go a hell of alot faster in races and I am deeply in love with my fiancee!

There were alot of people hanging around a "ticket office" kind of thing today. There were also alot of ASBO types that clearly had no trade passes but were still allowed in.

The silver pass holders were let in separately from the normal ticket holders.

If you are referring to your BRSCC membership, it alone won't get you in for free. You have to apply in advance for your free ticket, so I'm afraid tomorrow you will have to pay to get in.

Actually I think they are proper jobs, and incredibly hard work. I challenge any man reading this forum to do it! i.e. wear minimal clothing designed to show off your "assets" and 5 inch heels. Walk around in said heels for 4 days on the go, being polite to every leering oaf who wants his photo taken with you and the few who no doubt think you are available for other services. I bet the amount they are paid wouldn't get most of us out of bed in the morning.

I'm looking forward to going on Saturday (despite Virgin Trains cancelling the transport because of engineering works). It's a fun day out and fix of motorsport which should keep me going until training at Mallory on 28th.
