Gil Abobeleira should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The race was only good after the start and when the rain came, because, otherwise, it was a bit dull (that awful Arena section is just, well, for pansies that like F1 ).

How long after a race do they generally put up the race recording? Only caught the last 15 minutes because of F1 qualifying.

BTW, silly gamble by Vitaphone to stay out on slicks in that kind of weather. They must have lost a pitstop's worth of time on track and more.

Hindsight is 20/20, the rain had stopped, and they took a chance the track would dry and turn things back to the slicks favor. Even if they took wets I doubt they could have improved, they are carrying a lot of weight right now. In reality (short of a race incident) no one was going to catch the Aston running at 1190KG.

Edwards i could probably put up with if he stopped getting confused over which car is which, Herbert though i can do without.

Nice little gamble with slick tyres by Bertolini, although it obviously didn't pay off (they really should fire their weatherman). Pretty okay race otherwise.

Ben Edwards is not bad, Johnny is getting better. Its not that bad, Johnny is used to driving not doing color, so Ben has to set him up all the time. He also keeps basing stuff on what he knows best - F1

He did his time in Sportscars but again those were mostly in Prototypes, not GT cars.

He does have experience in with AMR.

All things considered its likely the best they can do with all the other major series working this weekend. They are just lucky the BTCC wasn't running this weekend, they wouldn't have Ben either.

You mean Hezemans declared injury because they could not find a 4th driver? In general what is the story with their 2nd car? Does anybody know who owns it? By the way Margaritis was mega yesterday, first time out in a Corvette.

Seems the F1 stewards were officiating on the Championship race today, yet again trying to discourage drivers from actually racing eachother.

So 25kg and a smaller restrictor for the Astons at the next round then.

I know this is a stretch, why not run the cars at the weight they are listed on the website. Or better yet, list the weight they are running at on the website, with the over/under minimum in a nice bold red. Then have the announcers repeat throughout the race why cars running under minimum weight are so fast. It’s hilarious to listening to them banter on about how cars are better suited to different tracks. The Aston victory amounts to playing chess with a mental deficient; you have to let them win now again to bolster their confidence. Now I am not a big fan of the Masser prototype, but let’s be honest, they had no chance running at 1255KG minimum to the Astons 1190KG. For all that is holy, if they want this series to succeed, set parameters at the beginning of the year and leave them.

Yep, the Corvette's all had 40kg added for this round as well.

I guess to the uninitiated, it seems like great racing, but if you just watch the bulletins you can just about pick the winners. I have no problem with equalizing cars at the beginning of the year, that’s what the testing is for after all, but the constant season yoyo of weight and restrictors just destroys the small amount of credibility the series has.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to listen to Tomas's interview. Did he really apologized for that half a donut made after finish?

Good race yesterday, okay race today. MEGA race from ADAC GT-Masters today, probably the best I have seen in person

As for the drive through for the #5 car: Westy deserved that one, the move against the Maserati was quite awful. Poorly executed bump-and-run, spinning out the Masser during the "run"-part

And I was actually rooting for the Fords. Oh well...

After watching it again, I have to reverse my earlier judgement. Masser spun all by himself.

Blog from Jamie Campbell Walter on Speedhunters covering the weekend including some kind words about Alex Muller's driving .

Quote:
I was able to overtake a few cars and managed to climb up to 13th, but then got stuck behind the Maserati of Alex Müller. What a nightmare.! He is another that doesn’t know how to defend properly. He just cut me up every chance he had, even though I was quicker almost everywhere on the track.
Quote:
By the time I got back to the pits I was so wound up about his ridiculous antics, I stormed down to the Triple H garage to have a word. Surprise, surprise, he was nowhere to be seen. Probably hiding his face in shame. Actually, it was probably just as well I didn’t find him!

Great photos Ralf.

Great shots of the GT4 Camaros, beautiful cars. The Lotus Evora ain't bad either.

The Ascari in ADAC GT Masters is the same type that is run in British GT? It looks different, probably because of the colors.

I must say, I really hate the Grand Am Camaros, but these are nice. The Grand Am version is rather tank-like while these just seem more svelte and have a nicer livery.
