Allegedly Project 1 together with Dörr Motorsport. Unfortunately, looks like Marvin Kirchhöfer won't be among the drivers. Quite a shame. Clemens Schmid is tipped to be one of the drivers and the other seat will probably go to Dörr Junior. Pretty underwhelming squad if you ask me but let's wait for some official announcements.

Looks like Aston Martin can still be entering DTM this year. Comtoyou Racing's working on a programme. Allegedly, they were requested 'by a customer' to run the car and it seems the customer is Dev Gore. So the deep-pocketed amateur is still trying to get back to DTM it seems... If it comes to fruition it's likely Comtoyou will field two cars - one for Gore (if this indeed is him) and the other for a factory AMR driver.

4 cars for AMG in 2024, Winward and Haupt, no Landgraaf.
Haupt have Maini and Stolz, Winward have Engel and Auer. Nothing overally surprising or exciting there! Seems like even if the Project 1 Mclarens arrive, and ComtoYou manage to pull off the AMR project, we will still only just reach 20 or so cars |

Engel, Auer and Stolz are top class drivers so happy they're there. When it comes to Maini... Well, I'd prefer someone else, can't see why Mercedes and HRT keep him in the DTM, he's hardly an asset. Allegedly Jules Gounon asked Mercedes to be part of the DTM squad but didn't make it. Shame, would be great to see him in the DTM.
As for the grid numbers, according to recent words by ADAC, we should expect 22-24 cars. |

I guess the chances of Güven being in the second Manthey Porsche are pretty high after his race at Bathurst.

Already confirmed in the second Manthey Porsche. Honestly, based on the DTM season alone, I rate Laurin Heinrich higher than Guven and it's a shame he won't be on the grid after such a promising debut season.

Didn't expect Dev Gore to be back full-time. Solid candidate to finish last in points. Someone has to take Deledda's wooden spoon.

As many podiums as Kelvin Van Der Linde, Gotz. More podiums than Eng, Laurens Vanthoor. |

That podium for Gore was pure luck since he had a puncture and pitted before the mandatory window but the series deemed he pitted just after it opened and there was a safety car soon afterwards which bunched everyone up in pit lane while he got a free ride on track from last place. The only other race where he scored points was in the Hockenheim finale that was decimated by the pile-up.

Paul Motorsport enters DTM with one Lamborghini for Maximilian Paul. It all happened thanks to their main sponsor Mayle, which pushed for DTM instead of ADAC GT Masters. Will be nice to see Paul full time in the DTM. That still leaves the second Grasser seat unoccupied.

So Marco Wittmann will be on the DTM market or will he simply focus on the GT endurance races?

It's likely Dörr Motorsport will be responsible for the McLaren programme. According to some sources their DTM program is not hindered by Project 1's downfall and they've already bought the cars
Wittmann was never going to stay with Project 1, he was unhappy with the team and demanded equal chances to Rast and SVL from BMW. It was already expected he's going to be the third Schubert driver, probably thanks to Schaeffler money. Hopefully this will bring him back to the top of the DTM grid. Will be interesting how Schubert manages their really strong trio of drivers. |

I don't think, Dörr/McLaren relied on Project1 to handle their DTM effort. Maybe they asked for support, or maybe already bought some stuff from Proejct1, or some expertise from Kamps etc. I am also not sure, if Kamps is not having some plan B, only loosing some of his companies, which are under treat. At least we will have 20 cars (given, that Grasser and others will have/find second driver), and i also think Frey might bring 2 Ferraris back again (ADAC still talks about 7 manufacturers). Above 20 cars is still good, knowing that Audi don't give bigger support anymore and Porsche teams don't like to compete, as long there is a works entry. Its interesting, that Schubert can field 3 cars, as there was some concern about some drivers being alone in their respective pit garage, which makes it easier for them (3 in one is a bit too much). I thought, ADAC only allows squads with 2 oder 4 cars? I think, DTM has potential to be the Showcase of GT3-manufacturers, sending support, money and their best drivers. Money can be earned in privateer series. |

Yeah, looks like 20 cars but I struggle to see any chance for more. There are 16 cars confirmed as of today, let's say there are 2 McLarens and 2 Ferraris (although neither is officially confirmed) and that gives us 20 cars. ADAC said something about 24 but I can't see this happening.
As for Schubert and three cars, if I'm not mistaken it was back in the Berger/ITR era when they thought of allowing only 2/4-car teams not in the ADAC era. But might be mistaken! Anyway, a chance to have three factory BMWs with great drivers behind the wheel is better than two especially as there's no chance for four so ADAC must've consented to that. Meanwhile, Luca Engstler confirmed as the second Grasser driver. Hope to see him step up his performance this year. |

If BMW Motorsport had some spare money, they should give 4th seat to Bruno Spengler. Maybe highest amount of fans, and he knows how to drive the GT3 already. I think Luca Engstler can do more than we saw last season...the team was struggling with the car (old ABT-car), and also Attempto/Tresor don't had good results with the R8. Only ABT could get real good results. Maybe they had best resources or more support. I think, last season showed, that you need best resources in every aspect to achieve good results. Many temas realized, that maybe GT-Master/GTWC/GT-Open is a better place for them. Where they also can earn money with racing, not only spending. But i understand, that you want to showcase your abilities. |

Doerr running Mclarens for Ben Doerr and Clemens Schmid. Should be fairly solid back markers.
Well predicted by Matt K |
