I have my golf cart arranged and ready for pickup on Monday morning. Makes getting around MUCH easier.

My friend had his golf cart stolen at Sebring. It was his team’s official cart! In the end it was alright as the thief returned it to the rental place!

Have you ever been to Road Atlanta? If you have you wouldn't make such a ridiculous statement. RA is a VERY steep hilly road course. My RV is at one end near the skid pad and my favorite viewing site (turns 10a/b) is at the opposite end. I'm 65 years old and I just don't want my wife or myself to have to climb those steep hills several times a day.

International viewers (ie outside the US) can stream via IMSA.tv ( https://www.imsa.com/tv/ )
or on the https://www.youtube.com/IMSAofficial link. Thats the usual form for IMSA races, one that I have used without a problem. Edit: Just checked the IMSA website to make sure.... Race and qualy confirmed on IMSA.tv "NBC Network Coverage: LIVE – Noon-3 p.m. Peacock Streaming Coverage: LIVE – Flag-to-flag beginning at noon in the U.S.; International feed coverage available on IMSA.tv and YouTube.com/IMSAOfficial (outside the U.S.) Live Qualifying Stream: Friday, October 11 – 3:20-4:30 p.m. ET on Peacock (in the U.S.) and IMSA.tv (outside the U.S.) IMSA Radio: Select sessions live on IMSA.com and RadioLeMans.com; SiriusXM live race coverage begins at Noon Saturday, October 12 (XM 206, Web/App 996, local radio 98.1 FM)" From the "Fast Facts" section on this page https://www.imsa.com/news/2024/10/02...tit-le-mans-5/ Last edited by E.B; 6 Oct 2024 at 04:57. |

Mate, I have walked SIlverstone, Brands Hatch, Oulton, Cadwell Park, hillclimbs, and many other tracks, I doubt any are as steep as all of those.
A push bike might be a better alternative. That was my choice at the Ring and Le Mans. |

OK, so you're not that smart. Stop criticizing people for their comfort choices and you'll do much better in life. I have to haul a commercial Ez-Up from turn 6 to turn 10 and back and there's no way you can do that on a bike. I'm betting you've never been to any track in the US.

The fact that you compare any of those to the road from the front and back of the track shows you don't get out much, don't talk to others and haven't actually seen the track at all. Oh and I looked, so far those are all basically flat compared to getting over the creek between the Esses and the old Gravity Cavity. But yeah, keep beating dead horses as that appears to be the strength of your posts lately

Calm down folks. To each their own. Nothing wrong with your preferred method of transport and let other do what they prefer also.
Rd. Atlanta is a spectacular road course. So are BH, Oulton and Cadwell. Now, if we wanna argue about S'stone, let's bring it on! Besides, much bigger fish to fry here in lovely FL... |

Yeah, pretty much every inch of Florida that wasn’t hit before will now get more pressure washing and Mitchell growing fast. Wonder how many teams will have crew or drivers have to withdraw this week, wouldnt fault any of them for leaving at all

Would imagine that most teams are either already at RA or will be before the hurricane hits the Florida west coast. Hopefully no team cancelations.

Unless the teams are based in Florida or have to come up though there, there shouldn't be major problems for them to get to Road Atlanta, though the western Carolinas and eastern TN are still obviously a mess (surprised that it hasn't at least significantly impacted the NASCAR Charlotte roval race). Not to mention that the storm is expected to significantly weaken before landfall (though this is weather, after all).
As far as topography goes, a lot of the UK is fairly flat, certainly most of the track at Silverstone (especially in it's current iteration) is. This makes sense, though, given that like Sebring Silverstone was a former World War II era airfield. Granted, many tracks there do have a fair amount of elevation change, but it's not Road Atlanta, Road America, or Laguna Seca. Or Brands Hatch or even Donnington, for UK based examples. |

The thing with Silverstone is it is a bloody long way around, (when you can get around)
# Every time I go to Donington I find I am usually one of only very few who venture out towards McLeans and Coppice, great views up there. I am fairly sure walking around Road Atlanta is only tough if you are not very fit, sorry, but if I can manage most could! But I guess a golf cart is cheap enough to make that pointless |

It's not about getting there, they'll all be on the road and many staged at Lanier already. It's family, business, homes, the non-racing things that are life outside the track.
Guessing the line out front is multiple lanes already as it usually is after they let you park in line Sunday |

Looks like we're skipping this year to take care of home and family with the incoming storm. Sucks but there'll be another Petit next year. Wishing everyone loads of fun.

Silverstone is pretty much completely flat, Oulton Caldwell and brands are pretty steep but none of them compare to Spa or the Nordscleife they have some killer inclines. I can’t comment on American circuits as I’ve never visited one although Laguna Seca looks pretty hilly.

Road Atlanta isn't quite Nordschleife or Spa, it's mostly just the dip at the bottom of the Esses/T9 and then down to the front stretch and it's fairly condensed. But Heart Attack Hill in the road to the back side of the track sucks

Well drop one car from the main show, Andretti Porsche was withdrawn. It felt like VP had multiple GS teams missing in quali but I haven't seen an update officially
