How many times have they claimed that thing was going to race? I really hope it comes true, the list is looking pretty sparce so far, Id imagine another dozen or so cars will be added easily, but I dont think there gonna have to turn anyone away this year either.

I find it very difficult to believe that any "Lotus thing" is going to happen..

Updated list is up. up to 43 cars now. some thoughts:
still no champion or the new lotus team in P1 Intersports MG(B160 Judd) is in LMP2!! (alongside the team car, the Lola B2k Judd)- how can they run in LMP2? strange that dyson is running in LMP1 and Intersport is running in LMP2. maybe this is a typo. - 2 Care racing 550's. Maybe they will be running the cars themselves this year. what about raffy? - Hope Konrad will enter. i assume he would. - strange that the lead PK Sport Porsche is a RS and the 2nd car is a RSR - only one hypersport panoz - No alrega bmw's yet i expect to see 6-7 more entries before the list is final tomorrow. |

Well the Intersport Lola 160 is an LMP1 probably a mistake. In regards to the Lotus, well will see in March if it show up, the entry list doesn't confirm that you'll be there......

Good Pilot lineup? TBA/TBA/TBA? Never heard of them
I wonder what is up with the "Semi-Factory" Two car Panoz LM-GT team. Surely the singular Hypersport car isn't what was referred to as that entry???? There are a number of drivers consipicous by their absensce that suggests further entries are coming. I would still expect to see a BMW entry in GT as well. Very good start to the ALMS season, nice entry list. Overall, it is looking like a very interesting season again, especially if some of these rumoured cars join in midseason. It would seem as though the season will average high 30's for car entries, which is fairly decent. |

Thought Herbert & Villeneuve are involved????
I would have to think Herbert is driving Sebring if he is involved in the testing before Sebring....would be kinda stupid to have a guy test it and not drive it in the first race, wouldn't it???? |

The car started life with a Lotus V8 Turbo, but the FIA changed the restrictor rules for turbo cars shortly before the 1997 FIA GT season. Lotus then switched to the Callaway V8 engine. This was very heavy/tall and a packaging nightmare after the compact Lotus V8. Privateer Elise GT1s retained the Lotus V8s for the season. Toni Hezemans bought the works cars and spsre parts and set about creating the Bitter GT1. It was basically a reworked Elise GT1 with a Viper GTS-R engine. It had numerous outings during the 1998 FIA GT season, including Silverstone were I saw it, but had very poor reliability. What happened to the cars after that is a mystery. I'm pretty sure the cars this new US team have are the ex-Benneton sponsored Elise GT1s complete with Lotus V8s. Last edited by JAG; 29 Jan 2004 at 17:04. |

Im glad to see the Intersport Riley & Scott there. I'm going with that for a dark horse victory
I would probably put my money on the Champion Audi though. |

I find it interesting that the Lotus is being entered in LMP1. Wish the new Masserati could follow suit. It seems superior to the Lotus on the aero side, at least in visual appearance. All this beauty is just wasted.

The Lotus, in its current form, would go into GTS if they could homologate it there. As they can't they may as well develop it as much as they can and race in LMGTP.
As they plan a full campaign in 2005 I would expect the car to look radically different to what it does now by 2005. That is if they want to be competitive. |

They'd have a heck of a time homologating the Lotus as a GTS car though....
Didn't this Lotus stuff in the last few years involving some fraud and stuff with some people got their money cheated from the team or something.... I'd very much doubt Herbert will be driving this at the 12 hours though, I can't see him not wanting to win it w/ Champion... |

To pick oranges...
or to watch TurdBoxes float by this weekend?? It's supposed to be wet down there this weekend... Thanks on the correction on the Lotus drivers.... Other posts led me to believe that those two would be campaigning the car... |
