Just to say that the Ausper T4 now owned by Roger Woodbridge was mine, Jill Carter, and I raced it only once at Silverstone in a round of the Millers Oil FJ Championship. Martin Carter (husband) drove it twice at the Goodwood Revival and finished both times. Though I liked it, he preferred the Elva 100 and the Lynx Type 3, so the Ausper went to a good home.

T2 & Don Hall
Quote:
Tried the above link & shock/horror it is no longer available - I'm a little late. Anyone able to steer me? A family Christmas present was an autobigraphy by one time Ausper T2 punter Don Hall ( book titled Both sides of the Fence) & includes a couple of pages on the Ausper. Don also raced a Lotus Elan then a Lotus 47. In the piece on the Elan he mentions building a twin cam as they were in short supply (67/68) & keeping the Ausper to the U1500 class using it to win the class in the 1967 WA Racing Car Championships. A most enjoyable Christmas present available at www.pitstop.net.au |

Hi, I bought the Ausper from Roger in 1969/70 and used it for sand racing at St Ouen in Jersey, I had then fitted a 1600 crossflow ford and then sold it to John Wooley about a year later and he fitted a ford v6 3ltr and I bought it back about a year later. I used the engine in a mkI cortina and resold the Ausper but cannot remember who to about 1973/4.
Roger Porteous was a car salesman at St Helier Garage when I started there as an apprentice mechanic. |
