F3L has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

Only obstacle that I can see to Montagny racing for Fisher/Forsythe other than $$$ is that he is now an Andretti/Green contracted driver. One whould hope that they would release him to race if they wern't putting him in a ride themselves but you never know...
Do you know which team re Battistini ? Watched him move up yesterday from 14th to 6th and then bang he was in the wall with Pippa Mann ( in his old car or team ) but no pictures of what happened. Seems he is an oval specialist with a good road course background in Asia.

Roger Yasukawa? He ran for Beck at Motegi and Indy (DNQ) last year. I think he's racing for them again at Motegi this year, not sure on that though. He'll be around though knocking on everyone's doors.

Doubt it is Panther as they fell out last year even though Battistini won them there first and only race win so far at the brickyard.

Yeah. It won't be for Yasukawa as he said after last years Indy that he'd never race for them again as they were so badly organised. Still, stranger things have happened...

When will the Indy-only entries show up during the month of May?
I remember last year, Hemelgarn only showed up in the week prior to Bump Day.
What about Rahal/Letterman Racing? Are there any news?

Phillippe should be out later today for HVM. RLR apparently have a car sorted but no deal as yet; the 3rd Vision entry isn't likely to happen. Townsend Bell apparently will be in the 3rd KV entry, don't know when that will be out.

Some notable times for the rookie orientation program today at the Speedway were...

Paul Tracy ran the quickest lap of 40.3426 seconds or 223.069 mph. Scott Sharp ran a lap of 40.5628 seconds or 221.878 mph. Robert Doornbos recorded a lap of 40.5889 seconds or 221.735 mph.

Latest rumour that I've heard is that Jacques Lazier will be in the #36 Conquest car. Also, if the RLR car happens (it is at the track in a tribute livery to Dan Gurneys cars of the 60s in dark blue with a white stripe) then it will probably be Oriol Servia in the car. Where this leaves Buddy Rice is anybodys guess. At the moment...probably on the sidelines unless he finds some more $$$. Same goes for Tomas Scheckter.

It is absolutely disgraceful that they are allowing the #99 to be used. This number was used by Greg Moore and retired by CART. First TG doesn't acknowledge the CART/ChampCar stats and now this. He doesn't exactly endear himself to the majority of us ex-CART fans.

Abit unfair there Canada ALMS fan

CART retired the number themselves, (while i agree with you about the stats) not any other sanctioning bodies

The #99 has been used in the IRL, and at Indianapolis many times since Moore's death, and it's never been a problem, why all of a sudden now

#99 at Indianapolis the last few years;

2001- Davey Hamilton
2002- Mark Dismore
2003- Richie Hearn
2007- Buddy Lazier
2008- Townsend Bell

I was meaning since the series are now "unified". I am a little sensitive towards TG (since he had a big part in the split) and noticing that just hit a sore spot as Greg was one of my racing Heroes.

Rumors here (in the rain) are that it will be a second week deal only between Servia and RLR...Let's see if that is true.

Speaking of weather, the forecast is a good one for the first two qualifying days....Good thing, because Tracy and Sharp are both on a First week and Race Day weekend program...Tracy due to budget issues, and Sharp because he'll be in Utah for the ALMS race the second weekend of qualifying.

Rainouts like we had a few years ago during the entire first weekend of quals would have wrecked their chances to even compete.

I just got back from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Man, it rained all day. The teams did not get any practice time in today. I did however get to hangout a lot in Danica's garage. Got to talk to her for quite awhile as well as her team. Her new car looks great.

She asked me " So how do you like my new colors ?"

Townsend Bell is about to be confirmed as well as Jacques Lazier somewhere. Coyne seat most likely not going to Bruno.

They'll probably wait til the week of the race because car numbers, paintjobs, drivers, and sponsorships usually change pretty often until then.
