This is bringing back memories of working with Steve Ward to try and get backing to develop the Ralt F3 car. Somewhere I have a picture of a young Piquet in the car during a test. I will try and find it
One of my former students, Ashley Edwards, who now race engineers in WSR etc., was at Prometecme and spent a lot of time over at Lola helping develop the car Danny Watts drove as I recall. Chris Weller now works at the National College for Motorsport at Silverstone and no doubt has useful insight. |

I remember reading about the Piquet ralt test, I think. Would love to know more about that car and why it never found favour at the time.

Piquet/Ralt was on the pace right? But they decided not to take the risk and bought a Dallara.. I remember the whole project being for sale by SW - but not sure if it ever got sold.
And how many Lola's were built for Jim Russell with a Duratec motor in them? |

The industry might have had a different shape if Piquet Sport had stuck with the Ralt. |
