Although the idiotic testing ban will interfere with the ability of teams to make real progress.

Quite frankly, I'm happy that the likes of Sauber and Lotus, etc, haven't been left behind by the top teams doing more mileage in testing than they do in all of the races. All that some teams have is a simulator. But in any case, Ferrari will be building what will virtually be a 'B' spec car for the spanish GP (having got lots of data from the first two races), and some teams won't be doing that. |

I see your point - they have lowered costs. And the racing is fantastic now, for sure. But I feel the technological side has suffered. I don't like the push to pass buttons, the over-reliance on the aerodynamic side of things, and the zero engine development that the current state of F1 has brought. |

I gave it to HRT BECAUSE they turned up, stayed within 107% and finished the race with both cars! And that for a team that one week earlier didn't even have a car in the race!

Some of the teams are still moaning about having to spend an enormous amount of cash on an a new engine that has had most of it's parameters specified. Mercedes even argued to keep the current engines! I would hate to think what sort of response they would have had to anything more than those two options. |
