I need reminding...other than a tough guy, no-nonsense image...what has Mark Webber actually done to be so highly rated?

Good question Rennen. It reflects the rather desperate state F1 is in when it comes to legit WDC material. MW seems to be quite capable but it remains to be seen how he would fare driving a contender. To me, it is highly presumptious to assume that he has the Williams seat sewn up.

I seem to recall that Ralf was soundly beaten last year by a certain Colombian, what's his name...

I'll believe nothing until the first version of Rich Reibel's 2005 F1 Helpfile...

I don't believe that f1.racing-live story at all.
That website is notorious for its, er, speculation, while Autosport gets it right 99.9% of the time. |

Good news that Trulli has a home, with the speculation that financial demands may have pushed him out of the drive, its nice for it to be over. Meantime, Webber is a step closer to Team Willie |

That's odd - I've seen people on here question Autosport's reliability.
Until I see the bloke actually line up on the grid for Melbourne '05, then I reserve judgment. |

Yes Autosport is often questioned, but it is regarded more highly than most others.

Patrick Head's comments this weekend couldn't have made it any clearer that the Scot will not be returning to the team for next season.
Poor DC. http://www.planetf1.com/news/story_16239.shtml |

Norbert Haug seems to be intimating that DC may/could remain at McLaren as a test driver.

Patrick hasn't got so much to do with the decision any more...
With that little outburst on Planet-F1 he could just be trying to lower DC's salary, etc - you can't make assumptions on these things from what people say...he could be playing games. |

He and Frank Williams own the team, so the decision ultimately rests with them. |

Still, especially with Williams, you have to watch out for the games that they play.
And I did notice JV at Goodwood in his nice white overalls. |

Ralf has six wins. JPM has 3. ralf is better Ralf has six wins. DC has 13. DC is better Seems to me based on your logic DC is better than Ralf. So why vote against putting DC in the toyota if he's better? Not that i disagree w/ that...DC does have consistency...even if it is the consistency to drive slow. But still 13 wins makes him better than Ralf. Last edited by dcp2685; 28 Jun 2004 at 14:14. |
