Well, I've completed Prologue with bronzes and silvers. That was long lasting.
Overall impressions are good actually, the handling is slightly more refined (I used the GT Force wheel and it seems more 'organic'), the graphics look a great deal better (again, just subtle improvements, but they all add up) and some of the tracks are awesome! That italian street track is fabulous. Oh, and the McLaren F1. There also seems to have been a sound for traction control added, that horrible spluttery sound. Downsides.......well, this version doesn't have the improved A.I of the final version. And the New York circuit is both terribly dull to drive and is full of hideous pop-up. Although it's fairly pretty I guess. And Vicki "I just love these electric windows" Butler-Henderson is on it. |

Anyone thinking of getting Prologue would be better off renting it - there's just not enough there to merit splashing £25 for it.
It's nice to see GT4 in motion outside of game shows, but in all honesty without the comprihensive single player mode, it doesn't have enough going for it to justify the asking price. Probably would have been better off as a cover mounted demo on a magazine or as a nice freebie for those who preorder the game. |

I cant believe how easy this game is. After 4 hours i had all the tests done with a few golds and had won the races with the game set to its hardest level

The best thing about the game is the 10 lap test with the F1 GTR.
I can get the lead at the end of 7 laps. Anyone out there who has done better? I know there will be as whenever i check my laptimes on gt3 there are some dudes who seem to always go a second a lap quicker. Last edited by Sirio; 18 Jun 2004 at 11:19. |

Has anyone found a car that is hard to win with? For example in GT3 i used the vertigo in arcade mode as it struggles to beat the GT1 and co

GT4 will be much harder. Even so I tend to concentrate on setting best laptimes, rather than racing. Try beating some of the 'Best Motoring' lap times at Tsukuba, set by their professional drivers, in real life. Using road tires you should be able to set times within a second of their real life times! http://www.tuningpt.com/store/tsukuba4.htm Here are the best G4P times set at Tsukuba, using Road Tires. 'Normal' tires are just arcade tires, and not realistic at all. http://db.granturismo.de/gt4p_arcade...id=8&trackid=4 Last edited by JAG; 19 Jun 2004 at 01:37. |

It looks so pretty. Especially the Norschleife. This game promises much, can it deliver. After all i keep hearing that what can be done with the ps2 in comparison to the x-box is limited.

I must admit I had got a bit bored with the GT franchaise but that trailer has piqued my interest. It'll be worth getting just for THE NORDSCHLEIFE!!! Surely we've all been waiting for that.
I have a feeling the game can't live up to expectations though (hope to be proved wrong) but in itelf that just goes to show what a bunch of eternal optimists motorsport fans are... (If it's in the future it's bound to be great!). Does anyone know what the Mediteranean road course in the trailer is (Pescara? (please!))? And, why can't there be any good historic racing games for PS2 - it's not like safety would be an issue on the Monza banking or at Avus (drool)? |

Well, it might not be for the PS2, but why not try GPL for the PC? Both those tracks and hundreds more, in historic F1 cars from the 60's, and soon from the 50's and 30's too! [/shameless plug] Last edited by crozier74; 6 Jul 2004 at 14:07. |

Regarding historics, GT4 will actually have cars dating back to the very first road car. Was it a Daimler?
The Ford Model T and lots of historics will be included. Most of the juicy cars have not yet been announced! |
