I think that's right - WPS took that up there, with the old reynard Team Australia Champ Car chassis (that besnard raced in 2004 in wps colours at indy) for the indy launch in townsville last year. It was an AU then aswell. when did it become a BA??
Also, in regards to Youldne's car being an ex-GSR car - thats still an AU is it not?? he ran an AU all 2006 fujitsu series (except when he filled in for Denyer at DJR), and the rumor is (see separate thread) that he'll be in john bowe's Development team this year, again in an AU. I dont think this car has been updated to a BA. Last edited by M-Kart; 30 Jan 2007 at 13:09. |

Oh, i know it was an AU when it was in townsville, someone earlier on in the thread mentioned that WPS had apparently converted it to a BA, but the 2 times i recall seeing it last year (in townsville and at the kostya tszyu drive) it was still an AU, so when did they convert it, and has anyone seen it as a BA?

1. The AU's different rear geometry 2. The bodywork on the rear quarter panel (notice how the sideskirt flows up the side of the wheel arch. The doors of an AU are interchangeable with BA/BF doors, so if its a bordywork thing, its in the rear 1/4 panel. The PT is interesting - i just wish WPS would stop fighting any other manufacturer, and just build chrysler V8 Supercars! |

I think that the sport (VESA) will lose some good privateers if they do not provide somwhere for them to run on a tight budget. Mabe the older shells can be used with more standard engines or maybe something like the kiwis, les power but still have the look of the big boys.

I have had the pleasure of witnessing Garry Willmington testing his new AU V8 Gaint at Wakefield Park a month ago and was very impressed by the sound and the performance of this car ..... unbelieveable.
Good on you Garry for bringing the redundant cars back onto the circuit with 6 litre engines instead of 5 litre engines. |

99[quote=Denosaur]The problem you will find is in the rear end of the BA. With the introduction of the control blade suspension system as they call it, they had to make some changes. As compared to the AU rear suspension, I'm told that it takes 4 to 6 bolts to drop the rear out of BA as compared to the AU. Anyone who has experienced a BA diff change under warranty, should know.
ever hered of a ford 9" diff, they don't run independant suspension on the rear of a V8 Supercar Last edited by toolbox; 10 Feb 2007 at 12:02. |

Ever heard of a Ford 9" diff. Do ANY of you know what is in a V8 Supercar, from what I amreading I do not think so. You can change an AU to a BA, just panels underneath is not what you buy from a showrrom floor. Go to an AMRS meeting, the first at Wakefield Park on the 25th February 07. The people in the AMRS will gladly show anyone the working of a V8 Supercar and now V8 Giants which are 6 litre and not 5 litre |

Then again, these days they build the shell around the cage, don't they? Plenty of scope to make whatever you want... you could make a VE out of an AU if you really wanted, I am sure. Why you would bother is beyond me, it'd be like Grandad's Axe... on its thrid handle and second head, but still the same axe he got when he was 15! |

To hell with the other manufacturers they have no "Skin" in the game anyway and could pull their support any time they want. Bazil. |

The doors on the AU and BA/BF are as far as I can see interchangable in the road cars.In fact the only panel that is interchangable between the two cars is the doors. The major difference is in the rear floor section on both road car and race car. The BA is longer and much heavier car than the AU. I didn't realise how different until I helped fit the towbar to my BA XR8. Once the bumper comes off it looks like a completely different car to the AU.
There is currently an AU V8 Supercar that competed in the Development series last year that underwent a mid season rebuild and now has BA suspension pick up points. |

Apparently under the "Project Blueprint" rules it is and it is the #61 DJR car that was driven by Marcus LaDelle.
