graeme should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Cool - the trouble with open races is when everyone brings fast stuff - but it sounds as though many are bringing reasonably paced cars - should be a good midfield battle

JEB has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
A really good cross section of cars.
I think everyone will enjoy a decent race.

Sorry, I've forgotten - and I can't find it on your site.
If I've got a Sports2000 is there a race I can do on the Friday and another on the weekend.
If so, entry costs and a link to entry forms?
Thanks

John -
Friday Shootout Allcomers Sports/Saloons: Entry Fee £100
8 Clubs (x2 races): Entry Fee £160
So you could run the Sports 2000 in three races for a fee of £260.
Email me: James.Beckett@brdc.co.uk and I will forward the entry documentation to you.

Thanks JEB, I'll email you.

Paul, the team has a Shrike P15 on loan at present. I was/am considering buying it. I also am considering borrowing it!

Any more news who has entered for the event?

Also not meaning to show my ignorance but as I have entered the event I feel I should know, who is/was Walter Hayes.

I think I have an old Autosport with a big interview with him from about 1972/73. If I have I'll scan it and put it up on my site.

Is there any class structure in the races? If so, based upon what - power, engine size, tyres...?

No class structures.
We run x 2 races for 'Faster' cars and x2 races for 'Slower' cars.

Phew - changed from 1A to 1B tyres last night.

...how do you decide who's "fast" and "slow"? Qualifying time? (What if one session is wetter than the other...?). Or those that look "fast" on paper? (My Caterham is quite slow really!)

Capacity grids? Excellent!

BTW, the Silverstone Travelodge is doing double/family rooms for £26 for the Friday night - if the website doesn't work (it didn't for me) you can book it through their automated phone system. But would leave your race car at the circuit - not much good parking at the hotel.

James you certainly know how to fill these grids...whats the range of cars entered? just a taster of each end of the spectrum would be good

A couple of the competition are revealed!
John Greasely in the Blue Coral Porsche and Martin Short in the Mosler.

John, I think these are in the Secretary's Challenge rather than the 8 Clubs races.

Well thanks Ian - that's a relief. Just thinking about investing in a gallon or two of Optimax to level the playing field
