Not at all.
JGTC > Super GT was just a renaming of the top series. TC2000 went to Super TC 2000, as the top series, then they made the development series TC2000. It would be like if Formula One was renamed to Super Formula 1, and GP2 was renamed to Formula One. |

Any news on live-streaming? And, besides, with all that deep pockets in GT3, where cars are not that faster than Super TC2000, how much is that V8 silhouette machinery nowadays?

It's pity that autosport tends to be more and more BoPed, with no room for some clever engineering. Isn't it possible to leave some championships for old-school racing? Or technology nowadays is too expensive to be raced in 100% competitive area without any ruling from above? Isn't it possible to built a safe and fast car with the least (as much as possible) common parts (only using some sort of a standard carbon tube for a drivers seat)? It's really sad that almost every championship is totally ruled by BoP. And so I'm curious if such a thing as BoP is actual for Super TC 2000 (even with their common engines), and how much cheaper and adequate lap times are comparing with GT3. |

IIRC the chassis' are sort of tubeframe/spaceframe with body panels attached. That including the spec engine makes switching manufacturer easy.

Later in 2016 there will be new Radical V8 engines, featuring push to pass, and hopefully more reliable than the older units. The new president wants to improve the selection of circuits. They must be located in strong markets, allow interesting on-track action and attract large crowds. |

Are there any troubles with attendance? I always thought that Argentinians are huge racing fans and there're hefty crowds at every race meeting. What tracks are not so popular?

Apart from the economic issues (fuel price, import barriers, inflation), motorsport has suffered other issues.
TC and TN, like football, had been moved to TVP (public television), as the Kirchners government spent heavily to do heavy political propaganda. So during ads you would see scary promotions of opposition attacks. Football got huge ratings, but motorsport lost ratings, as the channel's other programs had minuscule ratings. And government money was poorly spent, to the point that TC dropped purses. The new Macri government has stopped funding motorsport, so now they are short of money. TC2000 and Top Race stayed on Channel 13 (Grupo ClarÃ*n). They have been pressured to end races earlier, to improve ratings of Mirtha Legrand guests lunch show. Channel 11 (Telefé) started a new sketch comedy show set in an old-school tango bar and got great ratings, so motorsport has suffered. Several province governors have built circuits to get TC or TC2000 races. These often have with minimal safety and fan infrastructure. As Bernie does, championships sometimes go to circuits supported with public funds, even if attendances are low. This hurts teams, as sponsors need fans to get return. |

Super TC2000 is backed by the manufacturers regional division. But not all seats are paid, about half of them are rented to ridebuyers.
Manufacturers have a strong voice, but they aren't promoters. TC is a whole another story. ACTC presidents are elected by association members, like North American leagues. So supporters and opposition often clash. |

There's not enough racing this weekend, so let's add Super TC2000 at Alta Gracia.
