I guess Vickers isn't even allowed into the Hendrick team meetings anymore. So maybe this is just his revenge. At least he sort of dedicated the win to Ricky Hendrick so maybe he won't get killed by Earnhardt or Johnson fans...
The unofficial top 10 in points is: After: UAW-Ford 500 Rank Driver Behind 1. -- Jeff Burton Leader 2. +2 Matt Kenseth -6 3. -- Mark Martin -14 4. +1 Kevin Harvick -33 5. -3 Denny Hamlin -57 6. +1 Dale Earnhardt Jr. -100 7. -1 Jeff Gordon -147 8. -- Jimmie Johnson -150 9. +1 Kasey Kahne -185 10. -1 Kyle Busch -185 I'd say everyone from 7th back is effectively out of the running unless the guys ahead have bad luck and they have excellent luck. The points are getting tight. I wouldn't count Gordon and Johnson out quite yet. Johnson runs good at Lowes and anything can happen. Things change pretty fast.

What a punk! Who does he think he is eh? Can't wait to watch the race tonight. Should I buy beer just to throw at the tv when it happens?

Given he's already confirmed as out of the drive for 2007, doesn't attend Hendrick team briefings now, and caused an unneccessary accident involving another teammate, will he even last through to next weekend's race?
You could hear the crowds reaction from the TV speakers!!!!!! |

I am still in a rage that Earnhardt was busted like that. What a twonk Brian Vickers is.
I am calm! |

I don't think he did it on purpose. It was a pretty stupid mistake, but it was just as likely if he did on purpose he would take himself out too. I think he really wanted to win it just to prove he can and to kind of rub it in that he was leaving and to try to get the win for Ricky Hendrick. They were pretty close despite him deciding to leave the team after this year. I don't think Hendrick will get rid of him next week. But if everything falls right I could see him leaving before the end of the season and Mears coming over to replace him and Montoya taking over the #42. But that's pretty much my conjecture, but it doesn't seem like too far of a stretch.

Earnhardt has stated that he didn't think it was deliberate, but he still thinks he's a twonk.
Johnson however thinks he is a stupid mother ****er. 5 Laps to go."Bryan Vickers wants his first win..." |

Goddamn. That is a stupid boneheaded move.
I thought that in a situation like this they'd call the Eight car the winner. What timing loop did they go back to? I mean, at all stages on the Lap Earnhardt was leading. Vickers doing donuts. What a goddamn Gabor Talmasci he is eh? (Knowlsey knows what I mean...) |

Yeah, Dale would have been 27 points behind iirc.
Now I see it as a race between Kenseth, Harvick, Burton, and Martin. |

Well I thought it was kinda exciting :P
clearly an accident, looked like he went to bump draft Jimmie some more but Jimmie was still on a different angle, so it turned him around.. I little ironic as in the spring race Vickers deserved to win, but helped Jimmie to win instead.. oh oh, and he gets extra security at the next race http://www.motorsport.com/news/artic...&FS=NASCAR-CUP Was good to see there wasn't too many cautions too, pretty good race really, Jr deserved to win, but it didn't look like he was going to anyway, he seemed pretty calm after the race, Jimmie seemed more ****ed off at Brian |
