Oh man! I forgot and missed the first 35 laps of the main and all the heat races. I'll have to catch the replays. Damn work.
This restart is what i recall from last year; much slower than late models but damn good entertainment. The highline is the fast way around and slide jobs are in full effect, along with bouncing "gingerly" off each other and the wall. Great stuff! More of this please. |

Bubba Wallace takes the win, but the star of the show was Larson. That was highly entertaining stuff, watching Kyle bang off the wall time and time again and still gain on Bubba. In the end, he used it all up and broke it. But while he was using up the truck, it brought the biggest smile to my face than any other race in 2014.
Again, more of that great stuff, por favor. Looks like the ageless wonder, Kenny Schrader finished in the top 5. |

After finding out about Eldora a couple of days ago, I just had to watch this race and it did not disappoint. It's great to watch something different.
Larson was great but I feel like he would have won if he kept it clean after the last restart. This is definitely gonna be an annual must watch for me. |

This was even better than it was last year! I've been saying this, since the first rumor of a Truck Series race, at Eldora surfaced, this is a test case, to see if dirt track racing would work for today's Sprint Cup (and Nationwide) Series. Appearently, from what this article says, somebody else agrees with me! I remember him saying EXACTLY this same thing about the CW Truck Series, a couple of years ago! My guess, if (when) NASCAR adds Eldora (or another dirt track) to the Sprint Cup Schedule, that ticket will become harder to get, that the ticket for The Bristol Night Race, use to be! From Jayski's Silly Season:
Stewart would like to have Nationwide and Sprint Cup races at Eldora: While he's not planning for it, Tony Stewart would love for the addition of more NASCAR Racing at Eldora Speedway. Stewart, along with track general manager Roger Slack, talked about the possibilty during a press conference for the unveiling of the new infield building that will be added for the 2015 season. "I'd love for the Truck Series to not be the only NASCAR that comes here," Stewart said. "If this continues to go as well as we hope it does there's no reason that the other two divisions couldn't come possibly in the future. I think we can make it work. If you can take the trucks and make them work here, the Cup cars and Nationwide cars aren't much of a stretch from that. So it's definitely feasible to do that." The new building, which will begin to be constructed in October, will house the media center that will also double as an infield hospitality suite. The building will also be the site of the infield care center along with a concession stand with double lines. Stewart said the decision to build in the infield building had no bearing on the possibilty of getting a Nationwide of Cup Series race in the future. "This is part of the continued process of us making the commitment of improving the facility to making it bigger and better," he said. "But we are very appreciative and very content if we only run truck races from here on out. We get the privilege to keep hosting Truck races and we are very happy doing that."(Motor Racing Network)(7-24-2014) Oh, and there is a rumor, floating around, right now, that Knoxville will be added to the Truck Schedule, in the next year or two! Put a bow on this season. Congrats to Crafton on 2 in a row.
Saw the last 25 laps and they were pretty good. Still the trucks still put on a better show that the Cup series, but what do I know? |

Khane won in probably the best finish you'll see in a truck race BUT his truck was found to fail post race inspection after 3 of the 4 corners of the truck were under/over ride height limits, still keeps the win with penalties announced next week if they are to be applied.

Crafton wins at Kentucky. Race reflagged with 5 to go
then finally called because one of the trucks tried to take the fence down. Ben Kennedy ok. Austin Dillon seen speaking with Ben after the crash exchanging notes on their experiences with chain link fences. |

Intereting. And not even a "plate" track. I need to watch more of these guys. They seem to put on the better show of the top 3.

Four quali races are in at Eldora. Think the last chance qualifier is next. Haven't seen anything yet but can't wait to catch the rest.
The Onion and Ray Dunlap make one ugly panel. |

She has had a long day. I missed the LCQ. She must
of done good. Every time they show Rico and Tony together, I get this weird Kid Rock / Joe C. vibe. Track looks good. |

NY State Fairgrounds and Springfield Mile would be good.
Once you get over how slow they are on dirt, the racing and driving is just good stuff. |
