But I guess the only thing in all of this is that whilst motorsport is a non contact sport, the chances of contact are enormous. To legislate against what can really only be described a racing incident is, to me, facile.

Wouldn't it be great if Monty and TGF had a ding - dong battle at Suzuka! And climaxing with Monty passing TGF for the lead, that would be dramatic!

It all depends which way you look at it. During an assignment in Korea, my colleague ran over two pedestrians who had climbed over the centre median fence in a drunken stupor and ran in front of my Danish colleague's car. The Judge ruled against my colleague because he said that if the Dane was not working in Korea, the accident would not have happened.
