Seriously looking forward to next weekend now, even just the above list would be worth the entry but throw in 5Nations SuperCars and Junior's as well and it sounds mega! Just need the British weather to behave now ???

Yeah, agreed. Given that it is a retro event I am sure there will be a few no-shows and retirements, but with the size of the entry there should still be plenty of cars to look at even if a few don't make it. Plus, as you say, we have the Supercars and Juniors on top of that.

5 Nations entry usually comes out a few days before the event, doesn't it? Hopefully we'll get it Tuesday or Wednesday.

I said it earlier in the thread, but I wonder if there are any cars from Goodwood that will confirm if they make it through this weekend without issue?

(I was really hoping Lydden might get an S5 Impreza down there so I could photograph the hell out of it! )

I am, even though I won't be going! It's a hell of a long trip in a day from here. Work had equipped me with a stupid EV, which at 200 mile range would need 2 recharges to get there and back. Result add 2 hours to journey. No longer have it thankfully, but downside, it was the result of redundancy. Fortunately I landed a new job quickly. Just acquired a new, non EV, car. With buying a new car and the redundancy, need to watch the penny's for a month or two, so thought no, will still skip it. BTCC at Croft a much cheaper option! Looking forward to Geordie Craig's video with anticipation though!

Wonder which is the best day to go?
Anyone seen a timetable?
Saturday may be better as these cars have a habit of breaking.

I am aiming to be there both days but, if you have to pick one, Saturday would be my choice for this reason.

flatlandsman has been held in scrutiny for further testing
They never actually do properly race it has always been demo based.

Which is why I dont bother with it anymore,m a lot of very lovely cars invariably either that don't work or are driven very badly or slowly by rich old men, some people dont mind this but it leaves me cold personally

Nice - looks like the cars on the demo runs were at least giving it a bit of throttle and not just idling their way around. I was surprised to see how many of them were getting air on the jump! Dust looked to be a problem throughout the day - I assume the track was being watered but it was just drying out quickly?

Good stuff. Looked decent. Glad to see the old rallycross cars been driven hard. Group B looked a bit feisty!

The C4 in 90's Supercars was a bit odd. It wasn't like they were lacking numbers. Next generation of car and just drove away from the rest of them. Didn't quite see the point of that. Other than that all looked good.

I agree, it was odd to have Liam in the C4 in the 90’s class. Would have liked to see him and Patrick OD head to head in Supercar. Think that would have been close.

Went on Saturday and had a great day. All retro Rallycross ‘demos’ were run as proper races (correct decision!) and they were all pushing harder than usual. Great to see some door handling in the Group B class!

Both RS200s and the red / black Lancia looked very quick up the hill. Was also impressed with Andy Grant, he looked quick in the Focus and of course seeing Kenny Hansen in the ex-Gollop 306 was great.

Having been going to Lydden since the 80’s I’ll never be sold on the revised layout with the jump and the re-naming of Chessons for the short lived US based Nitro event seems nonsense to me, but perhaps I’m missing something. I share Arthur Debenham’s thoughts - was great to hear his voice over the tannoy on Saturday.

Last one from me from the weekend. Supercar final aside, it was a really great weekend at Lydden Legend Festival. Really hope they can do this again, maybe alternate it with Loheac so its every other year to keep that special feeling. Here's my vid of all Sundays action:
