without the bad luck at Brands Indy, cammish would be in the title hunt. He's kicked on over the last few meetings.

Be interesting to see what tyre strategy the BMW’s go for tomorrow having qualified a bit in no man’s land in relation to the race 2 top 10 hard tyre rule. If they go soft in race 1 how far up do they think they can get? Maybe 4th-7th or do they use the hard and try to finish 11th-12th and have unlimited hybrid plus the soft for race 2. I’d be tempted if I was Hill to gamble and use the hard in race 1 IMO.

Yes, definitely an interesting strategic element for tomorrow. I think a gamble on the hard tyres in race 1 for Hill could be worth it as well. His usual good start will probably nullify one of the downsides of running the hard tyres and with the often single-file racing at Oulton Park it makes sense to do something different in the day. Turkington (and also I reckon ATS) could make that gamble, lose a couple of spots in race 1, consolidate a reverse-grid draw position in race 2 and then maximise race 3. Potentially with Morgan they could gamble on softs? Could help him jump Rowbottom and/or Chilton at the start?

Yes maybe Turks and Hill will run different tyres in race 1. That way if the gamble doesn't pay off, not all the team mates lose out. I still keep hoping to see Turks higher up the order again. Agree Morgan should go with the softs for race 1 as he is highest of the Beemers.

Only two cars have now scored points in every race this season, and it is the two Vauxhalls!

Hopefully not another stripped race result coming. Ingram should’ve given more room I think (perhaps a reprimand) but don’t think Sutton should get put ahead when he was never fully ahead. (ok, he was ahead down the straight looking at the replay, but not at the corner)

Bit of borefest that. Not sure about this top 10 race 2 hard tyre rule or whatever it’s called. As for the black and orange flag for Rowbo, words just fail me.

Sutton also gave him a nudge to get down the inside in the first place. I think the result should stand.

I would love to see these two as teammates.

Really hope it won’t be a case of all the soft runners waltzing past and locking out the podium… but suspect it will be.

The disparity between soft and hard tyres is way too big. Basically a two-class race. A bit ridiculous. If the aim was to spice the racing up, it failed.

I guess the reveal of the new junior series car isn’t happening this weekend then.

So all eyes to ATS, Cook, Moffat and Huff really to see just how much progress they can make on the softs in race 2. Huff being the first one with unlimited hybrid.

These Porsches look good but seem they absolutely cannot overtake, here or otherwise on wider tracks.

Yeah, this is it for me, Tom probably shouldn't had skipped and retained but Sutton's alongside because of ABC in the first place.

Score Draw, carry on chaps.

Both drivers seemed relatively relaxed, think everyone has covered it. 50/50 from both, but great to see them battling hard.

Great to see such a large crowd enjoying the racing at Oulton today. I know we tend to find the negatives on occasion, but the championship/package is clearly doing well against a really challenging economic backdrop. Not saying it’s perfect, but there’s clearly still a lot of love for, and a lot to love about, these events.

Barriers scattered across half the track… no safety car?

I guess they cleared it quickly but even so…

They have traction control & ABS, making them easy to drive, so mistakes are minimal, therefore overtaking doesn't happen. The championship being open to two cars but split into four classes doesn't exactly generate much interest either.

Yet Smiley wasn't shown the flag at all. Total BS.

Drops him from 4th to 15th, so he still scores one point. Potentially if he did come into the pits he may have dropped out of the points completely. However I assume he will get 4th place hybrid allocation for race 2 as the normal rule is that you get the allocation based on where you finished on the road. Would have been better coming in, dropping the one championship point but retaining full hybrid for race 2.

Hope this gimmick is dropped for 2025. Don't like it at all.

Curious if Sutton can make up significant ground in R3. If he gets outscored by Hill and Ingram again, the title situation gets pretty nervous. At least he'd have better chances in qualifying though but my impression is Fords are not as quick as last year anyway.
