Well, it would probably only change the distribution of points amongst the bottom end of the field- ie they'll get 0 points instead of 3 or whatever. And if they were already getting doughnuts they'll fail to qualify. Or something like that .

Up until Bernie sold off the team, Brabham was a pretty good proposition.

With the banning of tobacco advertising on cars, F1 teams will need some other form of cash injection to fund their upwardly spiralling costs. With the present cost of development of F1 cars, it will be impossible for the poorer teams to keep up anymore, not that some are anyway. Unless the TV money is greater and also more evenly spread among the teams, several teams like Prost, Minardi, Sauber and even BAR will disappear from F1 when Sponsors don't turn up. I can see that if the teams form a new competition, F1 will in effect simply change names like the formation of the Premier League in English football - simply a change in name with the same teams. However, the management, ownership, and distribution of income will be different.
