Quite a time for throwbacks, with Falcon Cobras, and those VE Commodores, with HDT VC, VH etc kits and stripe packages.

Because naked race cars don't pay for top-level teams to race.....so you have to be a factory team ala FPR or HRT with big manufacturer cheques coming in that allow you to undersell the space you have.

I've got to say that is the best the #5 car has looked all year.

I can't remember the last time there's been such an overwhelming positive appraisal of a livery. Perhaps the 00 Green Eyed AU?

It seems almost unanimous that people love the new Cobra-look.

Even the other forums and heck, even Holden fans are welcoming this new bold yet simple warpaint.

I hope FPR take note, seems they’ve kicked a goal. Well done to the designers involved.

I always thought this years FPR liveries were just plain. They did the trick corporate wise, but nothing stood out.

Until this livery. Its awesome, and this is coming from a holden fan. They really need to keep it. The orccon logo stands out so much more, and theyve not (at least to my knowledge) taken away any sponsors logos.

Plain does work. JDR is still a nice livery, this is now by far the best ford livery.

I'm with you on that FJ. I've never said anything nice about a Ford before, but that one doesn't look too bad

Oh, and Forda - that SS looks AWESOME!!!!!!

love the mock-up VE/VH, we have one not SS but it's done up abit it's nice, i love them would love an SS.

would love to see a VE mock-up like the VH in a A9x or SLR 5000.

for me that FPR car is the first ford livery i have really got into, the others i have liked i think are nice but not awesome like that.

The wheels on that VE/H SS are just hideous, lol. Doesn't fit on a new car.

I'm sorry, but the original Walkinshaw VL SS was anything but a beautiful car.....IMO of course

I'm a Ford fan and much prefer 'corporate' colourschemes over sponsor liveries any day of the week, but i must be one of the few to think that, really, the new #5 looks no better than the one it replaced.....

but then again i always though Garry Willmington had the best 'Cobra' paintjob of the lot

theres a news story on drive.com.au or something about Peter Champion purchasing the HDT name to bring HDT cars back to the road, hence the photoshopped VE.

TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
How good did the 2007 Cobra & Ute version look driving around the track this morning with the Big Mother Beast following them.

Sensational.

Well Done Ford & FPR, Well Done.

Gone are the days where you could determan the differences between the normal version and the limited one. Releasing a new walkinshaw would be a stupid idea from my point of view, as it will be the exact same exterior as every other VE, a Walky was always the pinnacle of 'standing out' which is why so many people hate them (and why i love them) and why they are still fetching more than a new VE

Welcome to 3 years ago, a company here (SA) stickered up some XR8s with cobra stickers, chucked the name on them, and made a flogging (spuin i didn't think of it). Not sure if there was any legal case to answer to, but there were only about 20 or so made (and only sedan as far as i remember)

Theres nothing different between that XR8 and these new ones, except they have the standard issue FPV kit that seems to be the same on every car (only one i can tell different is the Typhoon - HOT car!)

On these cars tho, when are ford going to make a good looking ute? from the back you could mistake it for an AU, the guy who was having trouble deciding, the sedan would be the easiest pick for that reason.

The new stripes are too thin and the ones on the side somehow clash with the ones over the top.
