Wonder why the Corvettes are still so off the pace; is it due to the restrictor size, or just the team not bothering to push yet

From the US it appears this session won't be on IMSA.tv.
I really didn't want to say, but this is the first time either chassis have run to this ruleset in IMSA competition. Might as well prove the point you want to prove before any green flag waves, and while there's still something that can be done by the organizers about your...pace. |

Everything says Peacock is showing Qualifying for US residents but no link for it on Peacock. Goes from the Prototype Challenge race that just ended to the Qualifying Race tomorrow.

It appears Crucial are waiting for their new hauler. Supposedly that white "club racing" hauler in the background is their team hauler for Daytona. It's crammed to the gills.

There was a reason why the GTD guys were getting punted at Daytona, they were faster in the straights by a bit insignificant margin but far slower in the corners. Taking power from the Vette was only gonna make it even slower. The national homologation as GT3 was never gonna work well. Feels like they're gonna need Daytona at least to sort it out and Corvette Racing will have to deal with it.

Qualifying race on now. Apparently no live timing from alkamel directly that allows pausing. So all current timing options are 30-35 seconds ahead.
Timing on IMSA is https://www.imsa.com/scoring/. Kinda simple, and updates in 3-5 second chunks for me. LT2 timing is https://livetiming.alkamelsystems.com/imsa - close enough to usual format and includes race control messages as the flash up. No real issues with Peacock other than my normal gripe about the NBC commentary. Spend 85% of the time talking about racing, 15% about the race. Now to play the sync game with RLM. |

I checked the timing on the IMSA app on the phone but it seems really half baked. Most cars have " - " in class and car make columns and the layout is unusable anyway.

Welp, looks like WTR is on pole with the JDC Caddy joining them in the front row.
Lambo to lead the field in GT. |

3 things are sure in life: death, taxes and WTR winning at daytona (despite westbrook was driving like WTCC).
Don't know how much is related to bop, poor knowledge of a new/modified car or else but at the moment corvette and bmw are nowhere |

BMW and GT3-ized C8.R are both new, there's no need to show true pace if there's a chance to get better BoP for the big race.

Agreed both BMW and vette are hoping for a little extra IMO I think they blitz Merc and Porsche in the big race and make them cry to the sterwards…just wait it will get ugly.

Crazy end of the Qualy Race with the top 2 almost losing it all on the last lap. Kamui Kobayashi was very fast, however, Jimmie Johnson is way too slow for car number 48 to be a serious contender.

Looks like some GT teams did not abide the new tire spec regulations and have been penalized.

I watched the Roar race and then listened to the Endurance Chat podcast preview, and I have to say, now I'm finally excited again. I took a good year off racing and didn't listen to many podcasts. But that got me back into it.
