On a somewhat-related note:
I'm interested in knowing what the attendance ends up being for the various days this weekend. I've been advocating an LMS race in the Iberian Peninsula ever since the series was announced....I would have preferred Barcelona, but I'm interested in knowing this... Please share your observations as the weekend progresses. |

Jarama was a bit of a last minute addition.
I'd base any judgments on next year, especially with the (apparently) improved support package, Audi/Peugeot etc. |

I'm still interested in knowing the level of fan support for a race in Spain, FWIW.
Does Jarama draw decent crowds for other forms of racing? |

There may have been a BPR race, and come to think of it, there was a one off ELMS race in 2001. |

Lavaggi did get out but has some problems this morning - the Binnie Lola has a further problem which the boys are working on now.
The #83 ferrari though is out - very broken! |

Seems neither the Lavaggi nor the Binnie Lola made qualifying so presumably that's the back row of the grid set for tomorrow. Very impressive qualifying lap by Tommy Erdos to put the RML Lola on the second row of the grid ahead of both Swiss Spirit and Creation. And an equally impressive display from Stuart Moseley who's qualified the Bruichladdich Radical almost a second quicker than the Barbosa peddled Rollcentre car. Problems with the set up for Barbosa or does this simply highlight the inadequacies of the Judd 3.4? |

Hello
Another strong qualifying from the RML LMP2 team which might just spring a surpise at this track, shades of Villeneuve in his Ferrari in 81. All they have to do is get pass the Pescarolo. A tough order. A good spread in the GT1 class which again could go any way although I expect the Saleen to to win through in the end. The Rollcentre Radical hasn't qualified as well as they might have hoped but they generally race better, they just need to finish. A good race in prospect. Nick |

Sounds like be the LMS will not be returning to Jarama if the teams have any say in the matter. Having read Graham's report on DSC it would seem that nobody wants to go back there. Quote Manu Collard, "the track really is a disgrace".

The organisors really nead to nail down a solid calender for 2007.
Donington, Istanbul and Jarama look to be no more! TBH, Donington produced some great racing and looked spectacular on TV. Maybe the teams should put up with a little inconvinience and lack of space for the sake of the fans. |

Great run from Tommy in the MG, of course, but also impressed by Norbert Siedler in the Kruse car. I always though Vergers did well to persuade the Barazi C65 to perform, but Siedler's 1:25.422 is astonishing.

Just over half an hour gone. Great battle up front with Gounon having passed Collard. Nic Minassian's struggling in the Creation after a fantastic start moving up from sixth to fourth by the time they reached the first corner. But Creation have struggled with their set up all weekend and will have to rely on better reliability than their adversaries if they're to take second in the championship.

Lavaggi into the tires, Kruse spins and hits the Pilbeam on the right rear.

Safety Car out in front of the Pescarolo. Loks like Gounon will have a one lap advantage. Ice Pol Porsche hit the tires and is stuck in the gravel.

Hm, live timing shows different results. In the live feed the courage is in P3 after Pescarolo and Swiss Spirit.

I am really impressed by the speed the LC70 got to .. if only Pesca could get a couple of these Chassis .. they could get it to a better level of reliability

Another failure for the Rollcentre Team. I bet they're glad the season is over now after all the bad luck they've had at every race.
