Nuh-uh! 1.8L seems just fine from where I am sitting. It would seem even finer if it was 2.5, but I can accepted that is not going to happen.
1.8L turbos absolutely could get some impressive bhp. That seems just perfect to me. |

The turbo's of yesteryear only had to survive the race and a seperate,more powerful engine was used in qually.Any modern turbo engine will have to survive upwards of three qualifying and race distances,and so I don't think that 1.8 litres is overly generous.

Also remember that the mentioned BMW turbo used a highly toxic special fuel that would not be available to the teams today. So the hp numbers of the early 80s might not be achieved again, even with modern technology.
