the question is does Simpson have the nerves to do a lights to flag win ?
no ballast, soft tires and just one RWD car behind him... must be his best chance ever |

Simpson, really on fire this weekend. Fastest in FP2, then takes pole and all three Eurotech cars in the top 10 shows they mean business. Also great to see all three Motorbases in the top 10 and Collard a bit further up than he has been lately with 12th. And yet again Scoobys well down, surely Plato is not gonna hang around much longer?

Simpson has seemed pretty quick in previous rounds this year, just plagued with trips to the pit lane... as soon as he’s out of the pit and behind one of the front runners, he wasn’t struggling to keep up.
Not really sure where I’m going with this! Maybe he just needs to follow someone fast around rather than fighting for position near the back? |

BTCC is basically a joke this season...
You have literally no idea whether the performance is the car BOP, the team prep, or the driver - not good. |

Plato seems happy in the pre race build up! Seems pretty clear he won’t be at BMR next year.

Fair play to Matt Simpson, that was a great drive. Wonder what all that smoke was though.
Top three in the championship P15, P17 and P18, and no Subarus in the top TWENTY. Interesting times indeed. |

well done for Simpson to lose his virginity
cheesy Red Bull advertising by Jordan Plato the penultimate finisher of the race looks bleak for Sutton to defend his title, at this rate Colin Turkington might bang it early which in finest WSR tradition could mean he loses his seat for next season.. |

Congratulations to Simpson - some very surprising results this season! Good to see Motorbase back on the podium too.
Fairly uneventful race from the front. Maybe it's time Oulton was widened or redesigned a little as cars get wider. Another R1 win from pole, will we see another R2 win from mid-pack? |

As said congratulations to Mat Simpson, but that must be one of the most unexciting BTCC races ever, not good for the large attendance at the race.

What a dull race. Had to check the lap chart on TSL in case ITV missed a load of overtakes. Nope. I the top half of the field, Turkington was the only driver to advance more than one place.

I am talking about spectator POV, this track is narrow and most of the races are a procession compared to other tracks

With the two WSRs on the prime tyre, I'm thinking they could land a 1-2 here.
