Yup, on that valid HTP list, FIA n.o. 38650 is a Volvo 66, in fact it is the same one as the only Volvo 66 homologation paper that I've found so far. Probably makes sense i guess.

There is also one DAF on there (number 36462)

In principle it shouldn't affect the HTP, depending on your Motuk and the scrutineer. In France, where, as you may be know, sometimes, not everything goes the way you expect they inspect thoroughly the VIN plate and cold stamped numbers. The purpose is only to have a VIN related to the HTP, its not a police action. And if your next question is "so, can I have two VIN's and two HTP's for one car" you can guess my answer. Even under torture I won't admit I said so!!

Yes, within that list I can find a "Volvo 66 1300 GL" (FIA n.o. 38650), it's the same one as I could find the homologation form for (in group 1). Do the group numbers affect the HTP?

There is also one DAF there, it's a "DAF 66 - 1300 Coupe" (number 36462).

Don't worry you're English has been fine! Interestingly, this car is coming from France, I think the last race it did was the Serre Chevalier Coupe de Glace!

So within that valid HTP list, I found a "Volvo 66-1300 GL" (FIA n.o. 38650). It's the same car as the one in the homologation form.

There was only one DAF there, a "DAF 66-1300 coupe" (number 36462). Interestingly there's not one for a 1300 marathon which was the one that came up in all the homologation forms, I wonder how much this would matter.

Don't worry, you're English has been fine! Interestingly this car is coming from France, in fact I think the last race it did was the Serre Chevalier Coupe de Glace!

Interesting about the VINs, I'm not sure how it would work in the UK but I'll leave it for now as it's not so important!

As to VIN and number plates, check with Motuk if - as modern cars - historics could go on closed roads during an official rallye after removal of the plates. I guess it not a priority.

Correct

And ok, well let's see how it goes, a long way before that stage I guess.

And wonderful watching that video. I've never driven one of these before but I'm told they're very nifty on any loose surface. So excited to see how I find it!

If you need a Variomatic transmission specialist, Simon H. If you need further info, Hollande is the place.

Eyebrows, FIA speaking here.

As long as your model of car has been homologated in period by the original manufacturer, it is eligible to this day for Historic Technical Passport.

First of all, you have to define which Category and Period you wish to run, which will guide you to which regulations applicable. If Touring (T) it will be Group 1, if Competition Touring (CT) it will be Group 2. Then Period correspond to the year of specification, they cover various year and please refer to Article 3.2 to Appendix K of FIA.

Then, Homologation is applicable, in accordance with regulations applicable up to and including the Year of Specification. Only take into account that an Evolution covers a complete set of parts and the latest EV or VO used will determine that Year of Specification.

On Safety, Article 5 is applicable and for ROPS it's Appendix V and VI to Appendix K.

Last, all that has to go through your ASN or National Sporting Authority for submission to FIA if you go this way.

Coucou, Eyebrows! Still recovering…You can re-open your eyes now. 'f course, I understand the shock produced. If you can reach Simon its a good thing, talking with real drivers/owners is necessary, during an exhibition makes contact easier, NEC for instance.
Beeing an let me tell you what we should never forget:
a) its a leasure, having fun is essential; b) its really expensive, having fun is essential;c) when asking questions to a pro, bear in mind he/she makes that for a living, prepare your questions and dont be a time waister, this is no fun!
Last but not least, never ever forget the rule of the thumb, any sensible question will find an appropriate answer in PM…
