Looks like the potential birth of another power team in LMP2. And you'd imagine they might not be planning on stopping there. Will be interested to see their drivers. For example whether Ilott gets placed there again. |

Iron Lynx certainly don't hang around - I presume they will scale down their AF Corse support/links with this announcement? Unless Ilott is straight into F1, I reckon he'll definitely be in this setup in some form next year.
Inevitably, the "F" question will be asked, could this be a late move to muscle in on a role in the hypercar programme? |

I don't think that they need to muscle in per se. But to be first in line for customer cars would be a nice situation to be in. And through Prema they essentially have a complete young driver ladder of opportunities from what I can see.

is iron lynx a private team only race managed by AF corse or is another AF corse "alter ego" like spirit of race? Because if iron lynx is a separate team, maybe their 2022 lmp2 program is just something unrelated to the eventually AF corse hypercar program. Not to mention that Ilott is a ferrari work driver, he races where ferrari tells him to race.

At this rate (all these P2 announcements) we might see close to 40 cars at Sebring!

UA locking down Hanson for another year. It's his '23 contract I'm most interested in... |

Makes sense, given Albuquerque is on the same terms.

Also of note is that ELMS is not mentioned, which Hanson is doing this year. Assuming this is the case, he would have flexibility to do one-off races if he felt the need to impress any potential suitors. |

You'd imagine the increase in top class cars might also see other privateer teams trying to move up to the WEC just to get that LM invite. It's going to become so competitive. |

fun fact is that the wec and elms budgets aren’t all that different.
but remember seafreight costs have gone up significantly in the past 12-18 months, particularly in the asia to europe direction. whilst i’m sure as a knock on of that (and the general decrease in air traffic due to covid) air freight has increased as well, the gap will have closed. |

Watching the (red flagged) ELMS qualy and Graham Goodwin is teasing another big team moving into the WEC next year in P2 ahead of some future movements into the Hypercar market.

Took a bit but here you go: https://www.dailysportscar.com/2021/...ims-today.html It'll be interesting to see how they fill the required Silver rated seats. What's the age requirement to be downgraded to Silver? |

There's that and rumors that WRT will move their ELMS team to the WEC for a full season two car effort.
