and audi #7 has lost a lap (its fourth) due to excessive energy use.
As hindy is saying, don't think we've seen that in qualifying yet. And I still believe that porsche issues at nuerburgring last year were due to radio issues with their telemetry... |

Also happened to Audi in 2014 at COTA. One car had it's fast lap scrubbed due to excessive fuel usage and the other couldn't get close to max fuel usage due to telemetry issues.

Yep. T&S only shows one flying lap to be averaged.
Pending post Q tech inspection, Audi have provisionally swept the front row again. Hopefully they can turn it into a win. I also think that Duval broke the track record in FP2, and Toyota mixed it up with the Porsches. But in terms of sheer laptime, Audi seem to be on another planet right now. |

toyota unexpectedly showing some pace, guess we need a few more hours on track to write them off
Really looking forward to tomorrow's race. Light & dark, on a nice (IMHO) track... only problem (for me) is the whole race is during my sleepy time... that's a lot of coffee to be drunk, oh well. The sacrifices one performs for one's racing... |

Correction, Lotterer is now probably track record holder for the WEC. He beat Duval's FP3 time by less than .02.

I think that Porsche have to sweating a little bit now. Not only did Audi really out do them in qualifying, but at least one Toyota have shown to be about as fast.
We have 6 hours plus one lap tomorrow to figure that out. If that's so, then I think that the heat will be on for Porsche, especially in the manufacturers' battle, if Audi can put a race together without the problems of Nurburgring and Mexico. |

from FIA WEC's article on it that links the tv distribution list, somewhat - only "HLs" are mentioned.

Webber passes Duval out of T1, Duval gets past on the back straight on the next lap. Dumas seemingly holding up the Toyotas, already some seconds behind.
So how are Audi going to throw away this one? Edit - No Dumas, that's too far across. Luckily Buemi made it past cleanly. |
