Alesi is actually French-sicillian....though he might call himself a Frenchman if need be need be!
Maybe it's Prost.... |

It looks like it is Nelson Philippe, who tested with Conquest, who was rumoured to be driving for Fittipaldi, but now is rumoured to be with Rocketsports. Any more rumours?

Rumor: Portland On posted on 02-23 15:48
The latest rumor circulating is that the Portland event will make the 2004 Champ Car World Series schedule. Apparently, Champ Car and the Portland promoters have managed to come to an agreement on the sanctioning fee. In other track news, St. Petersburg, despite the legal troubles that surround the event, is not dead yet. Organizers are still trying to put together the race slated for a May date. But here is the kicker, Mid-Ohio may be a back-up date if St. Petersburg does not happen. It would be a track rental by the Champ Car organization. |

Portland has always been iffy. I wouldn't be setting anything in concrete concerning that race, but good to see OWRS and the promoters are trying to come to an agreement.
St. Pete's, realistically but unfortunately, looks dead and buried. Would be fantastic if Mid-Ohio was back on teh weekend though! |

Please say it is true!
Portland is a great track where...shock horror, passing is possible, and after seeing Macdaddy's excellent highlight clip of Blundell's victory there, I suddenly have a renewed interest in the track! Got to love the GOOD rumours eh? |

Well considering the Long Beach SuperLaunch is only a week and a half away more or less I no longer expect a schedule before then.
I'll say one thing, I'll be happy this year when around Augustish they should be releasing the 2005 schedule, the last 18 months have been too much of a hang on and wait ordeal for me. |

Guess who came to dinner?
Toronto 02-25-2004 03:24 PM MOLSONINDY TicketBoy Here goes: 15 races for sure and announcement next week on another int'l race, schedule to be confirmed in a week St. Pete's just the legal bs that it won't be running 18 cars at Long Beach, 15 confirmed and 6 drivers floating around to fill 3 seats. TV schedule done. Will be out in a few days All races will be aired at 4pm EST on Sundays so some races will be live, tape to live, tape delay. Network deal done and the network is on board for promotion as well. But 11am Sunday CCWS show. Now not sure if it is race weeks only or every Sunday 2005 Formula will be anouinced March 8-9 along with teams drivers and sponsors Trans Am driver announcement next week that will leave you shaking your head re driver and owner combo PG was asked if there was room in theur 5 yr plan for unification "NO" Sez he watched wind tunnel and FTG and thought it was good. Mentioned numerous times that the Fan is #1 and that they are focusing on the personalities of the drivers. This is just from my notes, there might be some more stuff when I get the notes from the communications dep't. Last edited by SurfaceUnits; 25 Feb 2004 at 21:48. |

Thanks SU. I was going to bust this out into a thread of it's own but here's fine. The 2005 formula caught me by surprise, but at this stage I imagine it's the Cosworth's for another year with perhaps new Lola's etc allowed in. Like having TV at the same time (not that it affects an Australian like me) . |

New Engines: If it was a NA V10 that'd be exciting!
Appart from Nelson Fellipe it could be Prost's Son(!) or maybe Olivier Pla? (He's french right?) |
