There are a number of manufacturers with homologated ECU's, drivers aren't restricted to just one type so it's not a case of forcing a single supplier on everyone.

Of course, silly me. I'll try and incorporate more wild rumours and IMG-bashing in my next reply.

Actually I doubt the cost of a spec ECU makes much of a difference to the cost of building a podium capable car.

What I do know is that there is every possibility of making a group B engine run well today - a local acquaintance has an original evo spec sport Quattro and it runs loud and clean. It's just so angry it's not even funny

Modern cars are just so very much faster, but I wish they sounded half as good...

I think they should put the super nationals put as a support race, including s1600 too. Other events have local support and we could probably get 20 RWD cars out, 4 heats of 5 and a semi final. You could even have the swifts. WRX plus Group B won't be enough.

Can't edit the above now, but I clearly meant 2WD cars not RWD cars. Not that I think any other support class is likely!

True. I calculate 12 races per heat. If they have 2 group B races per heat then that is 14, which is more than Portugal and Spain. But I'd still like to see more!

RX2 is yout walk around the pits class, sorry but it is.

Agree with Hickey, for the proces being asked you need more. Other events charge similar but have more stuff on.

No doubt you will be swept up in drifting and the rig riot bull.

Sadly I have made my mind up, this is not for me. But they should and could do more.

Especially as it's the last one.

In addition to the entry list already announced there will also be a 'past and present' demo race/static display over the weekend for all Supercars which are not entered for the main event

I know the likes of Andy Grant, Steve Hill, Gary Pusey, Simon Horton, Julian Godfrey, Mad Mark Watson etc all plan to have there cars there in addition to the Group B cars and other Retro cars, potentially aiming for around 20-25 cars.

I doubt it would change your mind but a full weekend adult ticket was £30 if you booked early enough. I expect Silverstone will be double so at that point I will vote with my feet and stay away.

There is no chance Silverstone will charge massively more, the market just does not respond to massive increases like that. Pulling in a load of British rallycross cars to simply be there, they clearly are aware of the the issues about entries and this is their best effort. it might work, but demo's are demo's and the last few have been fairly poor. Nice though it is to see the older cars, they are not very well put together and often time are messing about trying to make the racing look close falsely. Fair enough I suppose.

If you look, most WRX events cost about the same. Obviously Britain being Britain we are among the most expensive, aren't we bloody always.

30 for the weekend is fair enough if you live close by, if not it's camping which is awful at Lydden or hotels which adds a further 50 odd quid.

Sorry fella just not an option for so few cars and crap facilities.

As I have skipped Belgium there might be a chance I will visit the last Lydden round. What is the best (cheapest) place to buy shuttle tickets (Saturday morning - Sunday afternoon)?

Not yet, no. Keep your eyes peeled on the preview section of rallycross.com
I'd expect it to be up over the course of this week.

It's on rallycross com now. No real surprises. Q3 of RX2 and touring car on Saturday. Am sure they will fit the group b stuff around the heats, etc.

Lyddens short Sunday means that the lack of entries isn't fatal as it won't start til half 10

He at least words it nicely! Given how much has been poured into the PSRX car(s) it does make sense to reverse engineer one to improve the speed of your own cars.

There was talk that the second PSRX DS3 had been sold a while ago, nice to see it confirmed and that the car will be back in action again.

I assume Petter will retain the later DS3 now Oliver has begun driving it?

Quite, I wonder what they think about it.

Nitiss left the team last year because he thought the Seat was too slow and this year he planned on running Solberg's DS3. Now Münnich bought the DS3 to run it himself, lol!

Münnich now got six Supercars I believe; two Audis, one Fabia, two Seats and now the DS3.

The car is probably the best one in ERX now, easily the best engine.

Shame that - the Seat was a good looking car (yes it matters! ) and brought a bit of variety to the grid.
