Both sessions have been in the 70s deg F. Which is nice. I’ve been sledging (sledding) though.

Yes, now same tires as wet and have been renamed soft, medium and hard. This season the gtp teams will have options over a race weekend to choose compounds per S365:

GTP teams were permitted both the soft and medium compound tires during the overnight portion of last year’s Rolex 24. Sportscar365 understands that more races are set to incorporate multiple tire compound options this year.

But surely the pace at night isn't important cause you'll just get your laps back to set up everyone on the lead lap at 23:30 right?

As I perused the schedule for the weekend, I was impressed by the amount of running the main series gets this weekend. 3 sessions today including that oh so important night practice tonight. Also a session tomorrow before qualifying.

And there is a race on right now if you are into P3 and GT4 cars mixing it up.

The JDC Porsche has been fast today. Not sure which drivers, but Keating is getting some seat time.

S366 (it's a leap year) is reporting IMSA radio will be live tomorrow for qualifying so I assume that means pictures too.

Enjoyed the little race, but like last year IMSA always make sure the home cars are quick, that Mustang is as last year stupidly quick in a straight line, it was rather embarrassing watching it just signal pass pull in before the bloody finish line. Interesting to see what IMSA allow with the GT3 version, much the same as Corvette last year in WEC and some IMSA no doubt let it be faster than everything.

Yep, its an annoying thing in a BOP class when one car has so much of a top speed advantage. You cant do anything about it to defend or attack.

He did a 1:36.731 in 3rd practice, that's not bad.

You are accusing them of fixing the race.

It is more likely that it is new car BoPping issues. There was a good article in a recent Racecar engineering on the process. Although it concentrates on GTD. I guess GSX /GT4 is similar. Unlike in WEC

Specifically on this race it looked like the Merc had lower top speed than the others more than one car having a big advtange. And lap times overall were pretty close, so if the Merc was brought up to the top speed of the others then they’d need to compensate and slow it in the corners. This difference always more noticeable at Daytona.
