Wonder if the rain is going to be very hard during the race. Could produce unexpected results within the 3 races. In the pre-DPI days a GTLM could win overall maybe. Won't happen anymore of course. I think Porsche is best in the rain I figure. I think Lexus has their act together this time and get the victory at last. Hawksworth is one of the best drivers in GTD today. We know DHH can pedal too as well as code.

Don't be so sure; The Conti rain tires are absolutely atrocious, and the wet practice times are not automatically indicative of what the DPis can do over the course of a wet race.

With a 2:45 race I think the protos can easily stay ahead in the rain. But a race with mixed conditions could certainly be interesting from a strategy standpoint. |

The new yellow flag procedure makes a GTLM overall win pretty near impossible, considering they have to restart like 15th in line every damn time.

If the rain is so heavy that a gt win is in sights, then the rain will be heavy enough for safety car or red flag.

At least GTLM and GTD will get some respect and discussion during this thread unlike the WEC Spa discussion thread where nobody (accept for my attempts to trigger talk) talked about the great GTE race it had. All anybody wanted to talk about was the boring LMP1 race.

I don't like or understand this rule. The car that leads the race, whether through conditions or pit strategy as the BMW did at long beach, should he allowed to lead the race until passed. It makes things more interesting occasionally. I wish they would do away with this rule.

Acura 1/2 in prototype, Acura pole for gtd.... Rll gets pole at home track after being nowhere last race after being up front the race before..... I love the series and all, but I wish these thoughts weren't a part of it. |

Great point as well. That was silly. Both the old start and current re-start procedure is from the Grand Am side of things.

Sunny and warm near Mid Ohio right now. Anyone think that the rain will hold off until about 4:00 when the race should be over (scheduled for between 1:00-3:45 approx).

Anyone going to watch it and how? Do you know of a good boot leg stream? As of right now going to be on fs2 and no fsgo with no fs1 authentication.but Comcast is showing a replay at 9pm on fs1.

If I'm around and get errands done. I'll do it the usual way. GTLM streaming on boards, IMSA Radio, and live timing

I was going to watch but IMSA stream is too crappy. That's a shame.

What's with the Nissans? Did they get hammered by BoP since Sebring?
