I guess when I was referring to the HSV W427, I was thinking that Holden could possibly enter it, since they have been running the Sportwagon/Tourer for two years now, and they still haven't won it.
Thats interesting about the Hunter Sti, would be good to see another STI from that camp. If Delfsma can upgrade his car from a BA XR8 to a BF GT, why cannot Wilson Brothers upgrade their 05 STI's to the 07 STI club spec? I remember a thread where one of the Wilson guys saying that CAMS would not let them upgrade their cars. |

IIRC Jim Hunters Sti started life as a RS hatch anyway. Cars and bits and peices find there way from the crash lab.

Does anyone know of any teams who are or planning to enter cars for the 12 hour?
I read somewhere that Alfa may enter 147 GTAs against the BMW 130s and MPS instead of the diesels as the diesel class has not grown as they thought it would have. |

Begs the question... I wonder if you could do an "M3 sedan" by getting a bent 320i, sorting it out, dropping in the V8 and bolting on the appropriate panels. Surely it coould be done for ~$100k. |

pplater, I realise what the differences in the cars are, it is just strange that the faster of each pair is in the sedan/hatch class while the slower ones are in the "sports" class!

I'd be surprised if this was the case. I'm not sure Alfa Romeo or the sponsors would want to put any sort of backing behind a car not sold new for what, 2 years or so now? Certainly would be interesting as I know the guy who built the 159 and 147 Diesels and he was also behind a very fast 156GTA that competed a couple of years ago in Production Cars too....... he can build a mighty fine racecar.

It was a comment that came from one of the Alfa team drivers from this years race. He may of meant they were considering entering 2009 Alfa GT's, (3.2 V6, producing 176kw, 300nm). Could be a interesting package though.

Maybe a Brera? |

just got round to watching the 2009 race highlights & one thing is really sticking in my head - if you are running a race for Normal cars, don't have a lambo, maserati & super Merc as your safety etc... cars (its just about ok for BTCC to have a porsche lead the field, but a hypercar just makes the actual field look silly)

With the new BMW M3 on the list, why would you bother with anything else? Not event the S5 Audi or the AMG63 Merc would have a chance IMO.
I understand the need to challenge the Evo domination, but I'd advise against scaring them away completely. At least leave them feeling like they had a chance! |

In latest eNews, Holden Motorsport is backing Steve Briffa's HSV Clubsport for AMC and Bathurst 12 hour, possibly driving with the Holdsworth brothers again.
Does anyone have possible cars or combinations for the 12 hour to report on? |

Haven't heard anything relatively new. Both Colin Osborne Celica's will probably be there again, along with TMR, Allan Shephard's BMW's and Wilson Bro's. Also, are cars which race in the Australian GT Championship in Production class eligible to compete in the AMC/Bx 12 Hour? |

Going by the eligibility list, the GT production cars that can enter are the Donut King Monaros as well as the Beric Lynton BMW M3, all other cars i don't think are eligible even the Nissan 350Z and Lotus Exiges are not eligible.
What i don't understand is that they will only let cars that have a minimum of four seats enter in 2010 (still draft list), but they have a class for the Holden and Ford utes, beats me |

Yes, it's a bit strange, isn't it davo?
Another thing I don't understand is that it is a production car race, yet there is a class for Mini Challenge, full-bred racing cars.....ah well, time will tell. |

Interesting array of cars in class I including;
Chevrolet Camaro & Ford Mustang! Good to see the event organises have provided a class for the Lotus Exige and 350Z, but no 370Z. Maybe only on application will it be eligible. As well as the M3, Also noticed the W427 is not eligible as of July |

Great news. I love Improved Production!!!
It looks as though the Invitational class is aimed at attracting entrants from the GT-Production class of the Australian GT Championship. |
