Interesting day at the Races.
Must be the biggest crowd for a Shannons Nationals since who knows when. |

Could be just locking brakes? There seems to be a lot of that. Lots of carnage which then produced action via fightbacks, a few less than ideal moves.
Also SBS need a better tv director and a few more cameras (even fixed ones) as there were a few incidents that were missed. I thought Bright was a bit hard done by as it seemed he got caught out by Heimgartner lifting off, or was he penalised for not lifting off post-hit? |

Entertaining weekend!
We have been spoilt by the Supercars/Foxtel coverage but anytime race cars are on tv I am happy. |

Looked to me there was contact between the Hondas despite what the commentators said, the little nudges from Heimgartner on D'Alberto probably didn't help. With relatively small fields it doesn't help when a few cars get taken out at the first corner. Last edited by johnh875; 9 Jun 2019 at 09:02. |

I think the broadcast quality stems from just airing the the livestream So much money spent on the series by ARG, a pity a bit more could'nt be invested to improve the quality of what is seen on the live SBS TV product Some of Emma Notarfrancesco's pit reporting left a lot to be desired as well......just let Jack do it himself next time please Last edited by one five five; 10 Jun 2019 at 00:54. |

Any truth that one of the cars has significant damage to the roll cage from yesterday’s accident?

Touring Car Times are suggesting the Alfa is stuffed.
I'm inclined to agree that both cars will need a re-shell. |

I don't think the direction was too bad, although they did miss the race 1 podium. It was a lot better than the idiocy at the end of the British GT race on Sunday. Camera positions could be improved though, both trackside and in-car.
I know this isn't a big budget production but there really isn't any need to have ad breaks during the races. Even ITV, as crap as they are, manage to show BTCC races uninterrupted. And the time certain rubbish has to stop. There have already been three races which haven't gone the distance. The racing was close when it was happening but there were far too many accidents spreading the field out and lots of cars with major damage. Not something that a new series needs when it's trying to get off the ground and gain momentum. |

I'm happy the Alfa (Dylan O'Keefe) picked up a pair of wins!! Shame the same Alfa is a write off though.
I thought the racing was pretty good too. I agree the coverage/commentary is ordinary at times but it is a new series, so maybe the polish will come with time. |

Funny how people pooh-poohed my suggestion that this would really increase costs when it inevitably happen...
Also from the "who writes this ****" pile, Mazda to join TCR: https://autoaction.com.au/2019/06/14...-join-tcr-boom Not that I take issue with Mazda joining, but Auto Action spruiks: Quote:
Then again, I dunno what the hell the Cyan racing team in WTCR is, if it isn't a factory racing team? |

Last I read, GRM/ASM were attempting to repair it.
As for Mazda, the impetus is there via TCR Japan, to get them involved. In Australia? Pigs may fly. |

As for factory involvement, the article says they are looking to run via an established team, so same as Honda is doing and holden has done since forever. |

I would believe Mazda looking seriously at TCR in the States, they have often had a motor sport presence there. Remember they ran the horrible Mazda 6 Diesels in Rolex 5 years ago which had no relevance to any other series anywhere else in the World. No-one would have predicted those to replace the RX-8s at the time. |

Mazda are still running in IMSA with the DPi car but without diesel engine and are more competitive running with famed sports car Team Joest.
