Thanks Alan, always polite to ask first, avoids embarrassment. He doesn't like beer, yet. However bbq'ed meat is another matter. I'd keep a close eye on the little monkey or he'll eat the lot!!

Anybody actually had tickets yet for the classic? Also, does the permanent Silverstone pass allow entry for this event?

Mark, I don't believe Silverstone passes are valid for this event.

Anybody actually had tickets yet for the classic?
My tickets arrived in the post yesterday (16th) In the accompanying letter, in one place it says sign-on is in the Silverstone Club (outside Woodcote) and in another it says the Silverstone Diner (as last year). Does anyone know which is correct? Also, it is not very clear where marshals parking is - the map given implies on the outside opposite the Wing, but is this correct? It always used to be by Copse tunnel, which is much easier to get to the inside for the pits team. |

Marion, I believe Fay is asking about sign on and also trying to get clarification on transport for both pits and assembly. As soon as we have an answer we will let you know.

Could always send an email to Val at Silverstone to confirm. Most of the conversation on the smt fb page suggests they are valid. I'm sure they are mentioned in the letter as being valid but haven't got the letter to hand to check.

All marshals sign on in SRC from 7am, I understand SMT passes allow you access. For anyone interested Status Quo should start at 9.15pm on Saturday.

Classic sign-on
Hi, is the SRC in the old paddock between Woodcote and Copse? Im not too familiar with all the mmemonics for Silverstone! (Is it where I have signed on before, not being a Silverstone regular)
Thanks. |

"All marshals sign on in SRC from 7am"
Thanks Alan. Do you know yet where parking for the pits team will be? |

At the present time I believe it is behind Woodcote A grandstand with buses running to the various infield areas. However you could park around the Copse area and walk under the tunnel after you have signed on.

I've just spoken with the campsite people who told me that there's no separate marshals area and if we want electric hookup, it's £70 pp.
she didn't seems to 1: Understand the lingo and 2: Appreciate that I've already paid £30 for the kids etc I'm sure it'll all come together by Thursday! |

Anyone coming down on Thursday, we have Anthony Reid doing a clubnight for marshals in the White Horse pub in Silverstone village. All marshals are welcome the evening starts at 8pm.

I am told that Jet one of the Classic sponsors is 'doing something' for the marshals on Saturday, any news or ideas on what?
See you on Friday evening. Cheers Bob. PS; Alan. Will you be in your usual place waving a check flag and trying to get your picture on television again this year? I need to know what part of the circuit to avoid. |

Popped in earlier, very soggy so couldn't stay for entirety. As always, thanks to all involved for making us feel appreciated, especially after a long, wet day.

As I said over the road thanks to all that came over Friday . Fully understand the poor turn out I was drenched and cold as well as we had the E Type put in last to qualy sessions . On the good side while I got loaded up last night we have enough booze for next year already. Take care all and thanks again for all you do .

Thanks to Iain and his helpers and all the other drivers who contributed to the BBQ. I hope the junior was OK looked at one stage that you may have got away with it, very difficult when a car spins broadside across the pack with such a large grid.

Thank you for the enjoyable evening Friday night with plenty of food and drink, a raffle and a rather difficult quiz. We are so glad we stayed; and we too hope the Junior was not too badly damaged.?
