Nobody i know seems to be talking or maybe they don't know anything. People have said though that they don't think it is John Marshall buying DJR if it will be sold but it could be a Development Series team owner.

Howard to buy DJR? Marshall's links are with WPS i have a feeling, but if Marshall Jnr comes along where to for Bargs or Max-a-million.

Interesting article Here...
... except for this piece... Quote:
Is there a reason why some journos dont push the envelope and explore the reason for things happening rather than just putting words in people's mouths (like using the [this is what he really meant] bars) or speculating in a far less forthright way than is posted on here.... Quite strange.... allegedly |

The powder room has suggested that a number of people have contacted Mr Marshall with proposals for equity involvement in their racing teams (as opposed to outright ownership) and take advantage of the dollars that Mr Marshall is quoted in AA as being willing to invest in a team to bring it to the front of the grid...
Having said that, the powder room has suggested that a joint venture may not be on the radar for Mr Marshall, and perhaps an outright purchase is not beyond the realms of possibility.. There are said to be three operations (other that PWR) who are for sale at a price not dissimilar to that suggested in the AA article.... some with better pedigrees, some with worse.... What remains unclear for the powder room inhabitants is whether it makes sense to pay a mint for something that is already together but not working/meshing together properly, or to build one from scratch..... Presuming any of this actually happened/is happening |

This Pic may be interesting
Imagine the hypothetical conversation.... RP - "Hi John" JM - "Hi Ray" RP - "I hear you are buying WPS Racing" JM - "We are open to everything, nothing is decided" RP - "You know Ford doesnt currently support that racing team officially" JM - "Would that change if I bought it" RP - "Maybe..." .... |

Was having a chat to a mate on the weekend and told him of the rumors of DJR's impending sale. Told me it was'nt the case and sent this article from The Age.
http://www.theage.com.au/news/motors...e#contentSwap1 If what Chalker says is true then as of last Sunday DJR are cashed up, but for how long? |

If Marshall did buy WPS i don't think the team would continue to have WPS support. I wonder where that support would go if anywhere.

It seems the DJR tradition of selling off assets in order to fund the racing team continues... started with the workshop, then onto the development series cars, then onto the museum cars... now the businesses.... At what point do you stop throwing good money after bad? By the same token, the word out of the mortgage origination industry has a sale price of ~$2m for First Rock... which pales into insignificance compared to the ~$870m the founders of RAMS will get for their equity raising..... Very strange indeed |

maybe WPS could stay on as a sponser and put most of their money into Drag Racing which has been rumoured for a while before the Marshall PWR split so i don't know why people overlooked WPS as a buyout and went straight to DJR.

a product that gives you wings, PWR need them now with their dogs.
SBR come out about Caltex why can't SCA come out about what they are doing unless they are going to another manufactuer, maybe SBR, after all they want to get their name out in NZ, but i think Tasman is most likely. |

So any news from the QLD powder room? Is DJR safe after their July 1st cash bonus? Is PWR still on the market? Is john Marshall still looking at WPS racing?
Craig Gore has been a bit quite of late and according to the motorsport rags Craig and Ford have settled their differences. |
