That was pretty strange though. All six cars with Hendrick motors had the same problem. Must have been a bad bunch of parts.

But I was pleased to see Tony Stewart come in 2nd, and take the points lead. In fact, the worst part of the whole day was having to put up with my son's smug reaction to one of his dude's winning. That doesn't happen very often, as he usually picks drivers who don't stand a chance of winning. But lately he's decided he's a Dale Jr. fan, so I had to conratulate him on finally picking a winner. And I'm always happy to hear somebody won a million bucks! I just wish it could be me sometime.
It seems to Me that it was the extra horsepower that Durton(HMS engine bldr)put into their engines for the Kansas race, believe that the extra strain at the higher rpm's at 'Dega finally broke them,I'm sure that the engine shop(s) at HMS will be very busy in the coming weeks,or They'll go back to the less HP developing engines,IMO!
Hang in there Tim B & maybe U'll get that $1 Million someday,if so,please invest most of it,after having a he!! of a party,LMFAO!

Why did you put your comments in the middle of a quote? No offense intended, but that was difficult to follow. I agree with what you said though...

From Johnson's Bio on www.nascar.com

"Johnson, an off-road racer who won championships in the Mickey Thompson Stadium Championship from 1992-94, won the ASA ACDelco Challenge Series Rookie of the Year Award in 1998 and had made less than 100 stock car starts in his career heading into the 2001 season."

Johnson has good off-road experience, that's why he'll be driving in the off-road portion.

24Thunder,

I think that was a classic case of vB weirdness, if you didn't do it on purpose. I've seen such things happen on many vB boards. Since you asked... I will attempt to fix it. Let me know if I do it right...

Hey Joe Fan. Glad to see your posts again. All is well here for us. Have been spending time on a forum expertly moderated by Roselady3, but it seems to have gone away.

This place seems to be a little slow, but it's 100% better than it used to be. Maybe we can get things stirred up a little.

Well this place is a little slow but we are getting a little older. I perfer quality over quantity anyhow. Feel free to invite some good posters over.

Sidebar, my wife was asking about you the other day and I had told her that I see you post every now and then on another forum. Some personal news, we just added another addition to our family last week. A son! 8 pounds 14 ounces.

Congratulations on the new young man. Be sure to give my best to your wife and the little lady.

Understand that you have been corresponding with Eagle 104. Saw him at Indy again this year. He's really a nice fellow.

How is your mother doing these days?

Lee Janotta should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
If I may interject...

I've been a fan of Robby since he was in CART, and I wasn't suprised when demolished the competition last year. Fact is, Robby's got the talent to be the first American to win a World Rally Championship, which means an awful lot in terms of international prestige. Rallying is second only to Formula 1 on the international stage, so a lot of people would watch him showing up Europe's best.

Jimmy Johnson's driving background is similar, he spent an awful long time racing off-road trucks, just like Robby did. I don't mean to disparage Jeff's skills, but with his background, I wouldn't expect him to do too much in this event. But Jimmy could at least come close to Robby's performance.

Basically, the US team is cheating by calling guys like Robby and Jimmy "road racers", so we essentially get two loose-surface experts in the event when other countries are limited to two.

Jeff Gordon will be competing this year, not Robby Gordon.

Yes, I was aware of that. What I'm saying it once again we're bringing in a ringer in Jimmy Johnson.

Let's not understimate Jeff Gordon, however, if they really wanted some talent they should have invited Tony Stewart.
