Sorry, SVG under the lights at 9pm DEPENDING on the Cup race not being a dumpster fire and going late. But that looks like a more day time decent hour for the upside down

Oh, it was today. Well I messed up there.
Anyway, the color of the race numbers are all wrong so I’m glad I didn’t watch. |

I couldn't make the Monday time frame work. Genuinely wanted to watch, but plate races tend to anger me.
I think Byron won 40 years to the day of Hendrick's first Daytona 500 win or something like that? I looked and gave up relatively quick. |

But did he win? Video says maybe not cause pausing at just the right time says he wasn't in front but the yellow was out but then the time recorded for the yellow is just AFTER he passed. So intrigue and conspiracy
But on to the not yet a plate race and almost was in the 90s cause damn they were quick at AMS |

There's strong rumors that Honda will join Nascar, from none less than Marshall Pruett.

The reaction is HILARIOUS about it. Two entirely different and polar opposite reactions only and it seems split with old fans, teams and drivers who speak their mind vs newish fans and automaton drivers. Personally I'm in the first club, great tires wore out weirdly, the guy you pay a metric f-ton of money should be able to figure that out, if he can't fire him.

On the one hand, I like cars that drivers must drive as fast as they can, not carefully.
On the other hand, tire wear helps to develop strategies. In either case, tires shouldn't explode. |

Seemed like there was a lot of warning. The performance dropped off before there was danger of exploding. I didn’t watch it all, so maybe there were examples of random explosions. So user error.
And it was at Bristol so not a massive safety concern. There are certainly more dangerous things that NASCAR does that should be looked at first. Like letting Logano race. If this was normal every race it would be tedious, but every now and again it adds value nd we get to see an important race team and driver skill. If it was random explosions on super speedways I would have a different view. |

No, it was fairly clear when they were gonna let go. Sadly many of the drivers whinging and crying don't know anything about their cars and just try to punish it faster. Most of what I remember when I watched every week was tire management and making sure they could get them to run a full stint evenly or if they could make it only need outside tires at a stop and leap people in the order. But I started watching in 2 very different eras of stock cars than the heavyweight GTs they are now
Kyle Larson started it all with the drivers know best let's make it 1000hp, we can do it and it won't cost anything tomorrow. Yeah, Kyle almost doubling the hp of cars won't ever make an engine less durable, nah it's fine. But at least he knows his car and what it is doing, some of the others just cried it was all the sudden bam on the tires. No, after the first stint everyone pretty much knew they were wearing quick, like Bristol used to albeit not so aggressively as this weekend. |

No, there were no rules back then
Ricky Stenhouse isn't gonna be a Toyota driver any time, Kobayashi didn't like getting dumped and caught it to punt him in the corner of the car. Why the fk is Ricky still in a car, he's GARBAGE as a driver and it seems off track too if you believe some of the stories And track limits penalties?? Really, cause I saw Byron go to Mexico and come back. Saw Bell go completely off track after T1 and pass 3 cars. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT'S HOLY, NO NO NO NO TO EVER APPEARING at Road Atlanta if they're gonna go off this much |

Get rid of the Ams and have a NASCAR class at Petit. It’s the only way. They don’t have headlights too, so easy to watch.

Nascar is supposedly stricter with cutting corners, however it seems that they only penalize drivers they dislike.

And at weird places, I couldn't tell where they were issuing track limits penalties but I couldn't watch too much of COTA, it was just painful and bad coverage

Cameron Waters will enter the Trucks race at Martinsville with ThorSport. Guess anything is more fun than driving a Ford in Supercars these days?

Wonder if the heat of June takes some out of the tires. Hopefully the tires make passing a bit easier, often a procession but not as bad as Indy was.
