Of course all of this enjoyable conspiracy stuff ignores the fact that the cars are weighed before qualifying - I think the FIA might raise an eyebrow if a car that weighed 615 kilos on Saturday then went on to do 20 laps! They aren't about to pull a car out of the race and weigh it, but I'm sure there would be words!
But who knows the weights?....Not you, me or the other teams!

10kg of fuel is worth 3 tenths of a second around Silverstone.

Recall that in the Canadian GP Alonso was slower than the leaders at the start (over 20 seconds behind for parts of the race IIRC) but was significantly quicker than them at the end of the race.

That's because Renault ran a longer second stint and a shorter final stint than the others so towards the end of the race he was running with lesser fuel than others

Just think of what you are saying - in the final stint, everyone should have the same amount of fuel left because everyone needs to get to the finish line before they run out of fuel lah!!

X_dt; I dont think Renault do it ever race, and Glen I dont think the FIA care a fig until they start winning, as so far all it's done is spice up 'the show' and helped blunt Ferrari's edge.
As yet it's not worked out for Renault due to other circumstances beyond their control!

? I missed that? Did they take on a lot of fuel? They had to, of course, because it was a very long way till the end of the race.

They did taike a lot of fuel - but it was an early second stop and a long way to the line from there.

HC - why do you fail to mention the number of laps remaining at the time of the stop? I thought you were claiming to know something about F1? If you only mention one facet of an argument and willfully ignore the rest you don't do much for your credibility.

The total pitstop times for the Renaults were no different to any other two-stopping team - Coulthard and Button spent about one minute (give or take one second), and so did Trulli and Alonso. If they were using fuel as ballast before, I don't think they are now.

How do you know?

The theory actually comes directly from another F1 team!
The Renault could still be closer to the weight limit at the end than other cars.

Did you see the camera angle where you could see the drivers faces inside their visor? I swear that Trulli had green skin! I heard from another F1 team that Trulli is actually an alien.

and Aliens put on weight during the GP, bringing the Renault up to the minimum weight limit.
