A wet and exciting race weekend in France is over, with excellent performances by local hero Loris Baz, and Rea building up a lead of 59 points in the championship, which will be practically impossible for Redding to reel in over the final race weekend in Estoril in two weeks' time.
The manufacturers' championship is still open though, with Kawasaki leading Ducati by only 26 points, and 62 points to be decided in the final round. |

Last round coming up this weekend in Estoril. A new race track for most current riders and teams in the championship, so lots of unknowns and lots of points to fight for.

Gonna be an interesting race here, we haven't had a major motorcycle race here since MotoGP stopped going there, so we'll see how everyone gets on

Fantastic finale in Estoril, which resulted in Rea's sixth championship, Kawasaki beating Ducati for the manufacturer's championship by one single point(!), and Aruba.IT Ducati taking the championship for teams.
... and a fantastic win for Chaz in his final race on the Aruba.IT Ducati |

Agreed but that's Ducati all over after getting rid of Dovi. I think his only option at this moment is an independent works supported team, BMW has confirmed it will enter a satellite outfit next year so maybe ?

Ducati seem to be taking tips out the Ferrari management book.

Aprilia must now decide who will replace Iannone next season in MotoGP after a 4 year ban, could Davies make a change ?

There are no obvious candidates to replace Crazy Joe, who knows? I wonder how much Davies will want to make the step or whether he's happy where he is

He's precisely nowhere! Currently without a ride but the rumours are that he will be returning to MotoGP with Aprillia now that Cal has turned it down and Ianone is otherwise disposed!

Chaz Davies will remain in SBK next year; on a Team Go Eleven Ducati. Great news!

Rea's been banging in the laps at Portimao in testing, he certainly doesn't take his title holding lightly, very committed as usual. Be interesting to see how Rinaldi shapes up on the factory bike alongside Scott Redding but my personal hope is that Chas Davies can make a fist of it, the GoEleven chassis was very successful in aiding Rinaldi to the factory ride.

The 2021 championship finally kicks off this weekend with a full compliment of teams/riders at the super circuit of Aragon. Superpole this morning results show 6 Brits in the top 7 with Rea pipping Redding and Sykes to take pole and Chas Davis and Sykes close behind. The Hondas look quicker and more user friendly than previously, going to be tight at the front this year.

Well it was quite a good scrap in the 2nd race but once again Rea looks so dominant, had it not been for that coming together with Gerlof I wonder if the outcome could have been different even with Redding's tyre advantage.

At least Redding is keeping Rea honest, shame he made that mistake in Race 2, but that shows how on the limit he was
