Well, I for one cannot wait. I'm a little biased, though, since the race is right in my own back yard.
The track is a bit wider than a lot of street circuits, but of course has it's share of tight corners (turns 5-9 in particular). Anyway, the weather will be great, the racing will be exciting, and the smell of rubber and fuel will fill the air. Here's hoping the Flying Lizards can exact revenge on the Risi Ferrari (in a clean, gentlemanly way, of course). |

Marino Franchitti gets his chance at St.Pete's and will drive alongside Bryan Herta in the AGR Acura. |

CART is the main show. IRL isnt, watch it in single seater circles, they'd have your balls for that! |

...What are you talking about?
IRL and CART aren't running the same event anyway. IRL isn't running Road America in August. |

I'm too confused here...
...but if they show a TV pic of the control room (er...trailer, actually) during IRL sessions, I'll be one of the guys wearing a headset at the desk in front of the window (the fat one, probably being yelled-at). I too, am looking forward to ALMS...'LOVED the GT2 finish last week. It's nice to have IMSA SUPPORTING this event. |

Sharing dates with both series certainly makes the ALMS look less of a support series. If they only did IRL or Champ Car then they would really look like a support series that tags along. With the current arrangment the ALMS meets wit the two open wheel series on occasions.

Actually, the IRL should be the support series, its not like they are "pack'em in" where ever they show up. HARDY, even the Indy 500 isn't a sellout anymore.
But I'm totally sure ALMS draws the same amount of flies from time to time depending on location of course. In light of CART/OWR or whatever its called this week, open wheel really needs to get its act together or the ALMS is going to subplant both series here in a minute. Which I would actually think some open wheel fans would be JUST FINE with that fact, if they can't work together then just have the Indy 500 and be done with it... |

my god, brands does not even have its own proper sportscar race anymore, there is british GT and thats it.
silverstone is a fantastic track and the 1000km is a fantastic event but in 2005 the crowd attendance was, erm well lets say small and deserves the crowds. spa 24 hours i would think gets similar crowds to sebring 12 hours or petit lemans, but lemans dwarfs sebring and petit and every other sportscar event in terms of fan attendance, 250,000 give or take 20,000 is a massive number. the LMS races deserve much better crowds, i sometimes wonder why it doesnt get good crowds, fantastic grid, incredibly good tracks and a spectacle unlike anything else. LMS needs some bloody good promoting and a kick up the arse in terms of coverage and promotion, i will be pretty disappointed if the crowds dont pick up this year, what with the best proto and GT grid in the past 7 years imo. and not too mention a great support package, the facilities at the track especialy silverstone, nurburgring and spa are good, silverstone is easy to get to by car, not so by train or plane but still. i also think with peugeot in the championship it should bring many french fans into sportscar racing, but thats hoping. enough of me ranting or having a good old ***** lol, are intersport going to have their car in big wheel form ready for round 2? |

Is there not an entry list yet? The ALMS site doesn't have it up yet.

Teams will tell you that Sebring is the hardest on equipment. Even more difficult then the 24 hour events.
The concreat race surface of Sebring is older then most of us. cire. 1940s Plus IMHO history only goes so long. ( pun intended ) If the tracks owners dont keep up the track and the events promotors dont keep the promotional levels up to current standards, then forget it. History be damned. |
