The Lambo always seemed such a missed opportunity, like the Saleen S7 - Sometimes they were great, but often so-so.
The Corvette MIGHT be the best car (I'm not sure the MC12 isn't just in the wrong class...), but the Viper gets my vote for its longevity and the noise! M. |

gotta be the 550 Maranello, that deafening V12 scream is unforgettable and it looked truly gorgeous in the BMS Scuderia Italia colours in the 2005 Le Mans Series, plus as well it wasnt even a factory effort, most of the part's had to be reverse engineered for the GT car, plus most of the cars were made from used 550M Ferrari's, the success that car achieved was superb, it practically owned GT racing in Europe until the end of 2005, by which the more advanced DBR9, MC12, C6R moved things along.

The C6-R an absolute monster of a creation, building on the back of the already awesome C5-R. Also have a very big soft spot for the Prodrive 550.
The Maserati? Pffft. |

I still think there is not a loser in the bunch, but I find it odd that the people who chose a vette picked the C6.R. Maybe it's just me, but I think the C5-R is a more accomplished race car...

if this is strictly a results driven pole I don't see how anybody could argue agaring the C5R/C6.R cars. However, for me personally its the Saleen: glorious big American V8 with a great engine sound packed into that beautiful body. I only wish that Ford would have recognized what a gem Saleen had designed and built and helped with engineering and financial support for the teams. With manufacturer backing that car would have been a true beast and able to really challenge Corvette for a number of years. Like marcos gt said: "such a missed opportunity"

Strictly given results, especially world-wide, series-wide, how it can be anything but the Viper? ;-)

Although other cars might just win on looks and even on sound I agree that the Vettes both factory and private have been the mainstay of GT1 for so long and have one so much that they deserve my vote, will go for the C5R as when it first appeared it was impressive and the C6R was really a development of that car.
