Yeah I guess they just skipped it because the track will be a lot different. I didn't see anyone go for really quick laps on the timing.

I wonder how far from full potential are the Toyota running at Sebring. It does not take a great supernatural hero or magical hero to give them a win this weekend.

Not quite sub 1:40, but traffic really hurt the second Toyota.

Now then Comrades,
I've just looked it up myself so I thought I'd share the info, for people in the UK there is what looks like full coverage on both the Eurosport1 and BT Sport 3 channels. |

Quite disappointed by WEC timelaps. Start considering IMSA michelin's suit much better sebring than WEC michelin's/dunlop's
Just give an eye to WEC lmp2 pole. Mid 1.47 WEC lmp2 share same aero with dpi but have about 20-30hp less. Dpi best time in FP was high 1.46 and likely pole could be in high 1.45. About 2 seconds is a huge gap and can't be justified only by the lack of some power. Same happens in GT-pro. IMSA gtlm would likely set a pole in mid 1.55 like last season. Here again, WEC gt-pro about 2 seconds slower.... I know IMSA gtlm have always used to be lighter, but gap is too much. |

The WEC LMP2 speed is about what you'd expect. DPi don't just have more power - they have factory supported cars, factory drivers, and the LMP2 pole is an average time remember.

I know Facebook is filled with IMSA and WEC fans hating each other, but I have to say, this is the coolest motorsport weekend outside of Le Mans for me. Sebring has always been awesome, but this bumps it up another level. It's like the icing ontop of a very awesome cake.
Really hope this schedule continues. |

I believe that by combining the 1000 with the 12 Hours weekend they are attempting to establish an identity for the 1000 in order to move it to another time of the year. Sebring had an FIA GT round in 1997 in October, but it had underwhelming spectator support, but that was a series born in Europe and spun into US appearances and it did not have casual fan support in the US. Something the 12 Hours has. If they can establish the 1000 perhaps it could stand alone? That could be a good thing for the community financially.

It is 100% to make it harder for a P2 to beat any DPi. Not in a malicious way, but weight was part of creating a small separation in performance between DPi (manufacturer dollars, prestige, eyeballs) and standard P2 cars (gentlemen drivers).

I suspect this is just the WEC wanting to make sure the event works in 2019 before completely committing in 2020. I would also agree that a combined race weekend at Sebring isn't the long term solution. |

Night qualifying threw a wrench in some teams times I believe for the WEC. Can't wait for the race, traffic will definitely play a part.
