Bad news for those of us who were enjoying MotorsTV coverage I guess.

EuroSport 2
What they gonna show wall to wall cycling intead of WRC live stages like they have in the past and on the main channel an under 9s football tournament from milan or some thing like they normally do. Im not a Eurosport basher but the last few years it has got really bad! |

*Wishes I'd not got Sky for the last 3 races*
Last night I tried to watch ROC but it seems that Schumy, Colin etc.. decided to play football. I thought they used cars, my mistake. If Eurosport could commentate and maybe put on what they promise at the time they promise it would be a start. A few years they where good. Maybe Motors TV and Eurosport should get it. That would be better. |

So I'm very happy to finally be able to see Champ Car again. And a Eurosport2 can't be anything but VERY GOOD. About darn time. |

I share most people's annoyance at this. I guess my Sunday nights are going to be frustrating times once more. Wondering if they will ever show it, how delayed it will be, will it be as live and why repeated tennis (or any sport) is so much more important than live ChampCar! Blast. The advertised start time is practically the only time it won't start on Eurosport. Maybe they will have changed, but I have thought that before.
The picture was poor this year (not Motors fault), but at least it was on and when it said. |

Part of the deal is that Eurosport have promised to show all the races live, although I doubt it will be happen, but If the first race isn't live well, it's fairly odvious what the outcome shall be.

The differences between British Eurosport and International Eurosport don't exactly make this discussion any simpler. If I remember correctly, there were quite a number of times the BE broadcast got shot to ****, all the while the race was shown live problem-free on IE back in 2003...

Best solution: Eurosport International for Europe, MotorsTV for UK. Lets hope it happens.

You see, what's better, Motors TV only getting to a few homes or Eurosport nearly arriving to the whole Europe?

Well, you will think the best solution is one that you can see and others will think the best solution is one they can see

Yeah, but even with Eurosport's unreliability, I might have a chance to see the races and you might have one too... if they put tennis, then all of us can complain as one!

The 2003 Champ Car coverage was fine - just not in the UK

You can't please all of the people, all of the time, and it's something Champcar had to come to terms with I guess. Do we negociate individually with channels like Motors in each country and then maintain a lower potential viewership... Or, do we roll the dice, go for maximum viewers on the off chance that Eurosport don't muck it up, and hope for the best?? Well, they've gone for the gamble.....either way, the majority will be patting them on the back and saying thank you, or the majority will be fuming and beating down their door come the end of 2005! Motors TV for the U.K and Eurosport for everyone else is, by all accounts the BEST case scenario, but who's to bet this rumoured Eurosport 2 launches everywhere but the U.K. and the coverage ends up there! If that happens I will scream bloody murder to all that will listen! |

Eurosport
CART on british Eurosport is not as bad as most believe. In Belgium we get Dutch Eurosport and believe me I'd much rather have British Eurosport. Commentary on dutch eurosport is appaling, most of the "amateurs" at dutch eurosport (you can't call them commentators) don't have a clue what is going on. They just fill up the show with stories (usually about nothing really or about how good the dutch drivers are doing in other disciplines), not one of them ever bothers to try to keep up with the race and try to work out when the next round of pitstops might be. I would prefer it if they didn't gave any commentary at all, wouldn't make any difference...

It's a shame MotorsTV won't broadcast it next year, I only got a chance to watch 2 Champ Car races live all season but thanks to them repeating the race a couple of times throughout the week I managed to catch them all in their entirety. You can guarentee Eurosport will show the race (hopefully) then chop it down to a 5 minute highlight reel for Motorsport Weekend.
If Eurosport had had their way we wouldn't have seen any of the Champcars, the first race wasn't even on their schedules! Horrah for Motors! Last edited by Silk Cut Jaguar; 10 Dec 2004 at 20:51. |

You see... I had Motors TV until 2003. Then they go and show Champ Cars... am I unlucky or what?
That's why I'm happy Eurosport gets it. At least I see Eurosport... |

Thanks for the news macdaddy, well at least all the races are live, all though it was part of the deal I doubted that all the races would be live.

The only question now is "will British Eurosport do the same?".
It often runs different programming to Eurosport International. |

Race director is a subscription service on the ChampCar website so you can watch coverage of the races live on line.
The only problem is the screen to see them is about 4 inches by 3. |

I don't like paying to look at LIVE timing.
I generally miss the races because they clash with other things. I did manage to catch a few races this year and I look forward to more in 2005. |

It's not live timing, Hakkiman - it's live video and audio.
