Man, KPax just can't dodge the bad luck this year. Even with the win for the #3, another big crash for the #9 really sucks.

Glad too see Parente walk away from that one, it was another really hard impact. |

Some really enjoyable racing today I thought. Really cool to see Rodrigo Baptista earn his first GT race win today. Stellar drive from both him and Soulet. The battle between Henzler, Pumpelly and Schiller was really fun, until it ended badly. While I think it was appropriate to Penalize the CRP car for spinning the Allegra car, I kind of thought Pumpelly deserved what he got, for the way he blocked Schiller on the straight and then overslowed in the corner to balk the momentum of the big Mercedes. That was some really aggressive defensive driving and at least partially responsible for the incident.
Good GTS race too. Congratulations to Trent Hindman and Alan Brynjolfsson. Quite a drive by Micheal Lewis in the TCR race also. Last to second! |

Quite a GT race! Caution free, lots of good racing action....it's a pity it had to be won by Mike Skeen and Lonestar Racing. After knocking out Parentes Bentley with that idiot move in race 1, it's ironic and maddening to see Skeen's car prosper with the race 2 victory. I have to think that the #9 car would have been tough to beat this weekend if not for getting taken out by the #80 Mercedes.
Next up- GTS! |

https://twitter.com/ASoucek/status/990302890945318914 Obviously Mike Skeen is a very talented driver with a ton of laps at VIR. He could probably easily drive the track blindfolded. Perhaps the problem with driving a track too much from memory is it sometimes doesn't allow for the extra variable of the other competitors sharing the track with you. |
