Possibly, although it was said that McLaren's suspension layout hindered the adoption of the later Michelins.
However now Williams have gone that way, so they are obviously able to get over any problem and maybe in the end it helps? |

thanks all for explanations and especially the diagrams E (yours Adam do not open, even when drag and dropped into Photoshop) I only saw the web photos of the new Williams today, and Frankly (sorry) I had no idea what the single or twin keel references meant, and had assumed it had to do with the back end of the car. You can see how the thinking went into this and other front end designs, people figuring ways to impede the air moving under the car in the least possible way. Pretty neat, and thanks again for making me see and understand the basic concept and why.
