I think it would be a major coup if A1GP can secure races in North America, France and Germany.
F1 is growing in the Middle East but it might lose out in North America and Europe to A1GP. |

F1 is going down hill, but the fans just stay with it no matter what the races are like.
A1GP will start getting the host for the favourite tracks in america and Europe hopefully. Then A1GP will be super popular :P |

OK, it might be cheaper, but it's still a heck of a lot of money. Until the (paying) spectator numbers warrant it, a European venue would still baulk at those sort of figures. Why 2 rounds for China? - government money - same old path as F1. |

I've split the posts about the Brazil/TBA speculation for this season into a different thread. Comments about the future and specifically 09/10 season can continue here.

Oh I can see a German round happen again, especially in a strategic place like Hockenheim that is also close to the French, Dutch and Swiss borders

new developments: DTM race on Zandvoort has been moved from August to July... creating room for a Zandvoort Masters of F3 in 2009, which would in turn mean that A1 won't be coming to Zandvoort untill 2010.
Reason for that: from jan 1st 2010 onwards, the Zandvoort circuit will have 12 noise pollution days each year, instead of the 5 they now have annually. Therefore, I speculate that Zandvoort will be the closing round of the 2009-2010 season. It is also quite sure that there will be a German round at the Sachsenring. The site of the ATS Formel 3 cup lists that event on Sept 21st 2009.... the same date as the Zandvoort round was originally planned. To be continued |

The ATS-Cup-race at the Sachsenring is part of the ADAC-Mastersweekend ( GT-Masters, ADAC Formula Masters, ADAC Procar)

The press release from A1GP about Team Germany's plans mentioned "Beisswanger taking over the running of the A1 Team Germany", not taking over the franchise/seat holder. Does ADAC hold the franchise? If so would make to run at the ADAC Mastersweekend.

I am quite sure that I read somewhere that Beisswanger is actually the new team owner ( replacing Willy Weber). And late september, ADAC catagorically denied to be involved in A1, but they did admit they have been looking into it.

There is an article on a NZL news website today saying that Taupo are talking to A1GP about a season five round in early November '09, two weeks after Surfers Paridise.

Just noted that RAB Capital hedge fund, that once owned A1GP, is among the victims of Madoff's scandal. The sum of the losses are undisclosed.

50 minutes from gaungzhou airport. guandong pronvince governemnt is behind it. chinese sports body too. it will be place in industrial automotive car park industry zone. i think they're all aware of the challenges ahead. guangdong province is very rich and fun day of racing excitement is an excellent way to boost morale and to thank the province people for their hard work.

Hmmmm... Racexpress.com now seems to agree about Zandvoort moving to spring 2010.
In fact, they state the 2009-2010 season may not start in Europe.... An US or Canada round in the making perhaps ??? |

A1GP are in danger of shooting themselves in the foot by changing schedules during the current season and not having all the teams running, let alone worrying about what they should be doing next season.

main problem is more the FIA than A1GP. The FIA is still intent on making A1GP's life as miserable as possible appearantly.
For the rumored May 17th round, the only dates the FIA would approve were dates on which either A1 or the Interlagos circuit had other commitments for instance. |
