The team may have done, helped by the mass damper ban and the retirements in Hungary and Italy, but he didn't throw it away. Quote:
You could just as easily say MS was only in contention because of Alonso's driveshaft in Hungary or engine in Monza. If MS had had his blow up at Imola rather than Suzuka people wouldn't say it cost him the title. Perception is always focussed too much on the last few races of a season rather than across the year. |

The FIA should read the riot act now to Ferrari stating that they will not accept any funny business with Massa / Alonso.
Massa is well known to be under orders to do "anything" to help Michael win the championship, however how far is "anything"? Will he turn into Alonso if he tries to pass him either for position or whilst lapping? |

What irritates me is that if Michael or Felipe are in a fair-and-square battle with Alonso, and one or both of them end up off the road - despite it being a racing incident - everyone is going to be accusing them of funny business?
What are the odds Alonso would think about taking Michael out if the situation warranted it? He is the one defending the championship lead. |

But its quite true, I guess Fisi could well be under orders to have Michael off, or maybe Alonso could turn in on Michael in a given situation. However I think that the FIA should make it clear that they will not tolerate any form of foul play from either Renault or Ferrari. |

On the other side of the coin, it could be said that Michael gained 11 points from a blown engine and wheel bearing failure Alfonso had at Hungary and Monza. Both Michael and Fernando have had 2 failure's to finish and scored points in the other 15 races, so it could be said that it is a way to win a championship for Fernando. |
